Bill and Hillary Clinton have long supported an estate tax to prevent the U.S. from being dominated by inherited wealth. That doesn’t mean they want to pay it.

The democrats biggest constituency is probably teachers unions. Virtually every prominent democrat sends or sent their own kids to pricey private schools. Then they oppose vouchers so less well-off can do the same and escape horrible public schools.

 

This is no different than, for one example, Sheldon Adelson: “I’m against very wealthy ­people attempting to or influencing elections. But as long as it’s doable I’m going to do it."

Sheldon Adelson did not pass a law prohibiting other people from influencing elections and then try to influence an election himself.
