Voters Have Had It With Obama

  1. Obama’s Big Lie is destroying his credibility

When I first saw the headline saying Bill Clinton was advising President Obama to “honor his commitment,” I had to laugh. The idea of Monica Lewinsky’s boyfriend as moral referee always cracks me up.

Then I got to wondering. Which commitment was Clinton talking about?

Is it the one Obama made to the Israeli people, that he had their backs and would never let Iran get a nuclear weapon? Or was it his promise to enforce a “red line” in Syria?

Or maybe it was Obama’s promise to “never rest” until we caught the terrorists who killed our ambassador and three other Americans in Libya?

Or was Clinton talking about the many times the president said he would “never rest” until every American who wanted a job had one?

Or maybe he was talking about the pledge to change the tone in Washington? Or to go through the budget “line by line” and cross out the waste driving up the deficit?

You get the picture — any of those whoppers would qualify. But, of course, Clinton was talking about the broken promise of the moment, the one where Obama vowed that “if you like your health insurance, you can keep it.”

It ranks as one of the biggest presidential lies of modern times, all the more so because Obama repeated it 30 times. The fallout of millions being forced from their policies, an experience exacerbated by the hapless Web site, has created a crisis of confidence so vast, it threatens to swallow the second term.

So Clinton, who falsely swore he never had sex with that woman, spoke from experience when he told an interviewer, “The president should honor his commitment to those people and let them keep what they got.”

He knows the Big Lie is shredding Obama’s ace in the hole — his personal credibility. The key to Obama’s political success is that his job-approval ratings generally have been higher than the public’s view of his policies.

From the economy to health care to foreign policy, voters were mostly negative on the policies. But when it came to Obama himself, more Americans, often a majority, said they liked him, trusted him and believed he had their interests at heart.

ObamaCare is breaking that bond — and creating a domino effect. The public is turning ever harder against his policies, with only 31 percent now supporting him on the economy and 32 percent on immigration in the latest Pew poll.

Most important, they are also giving a thumbs-down on his overall performance. Pew finds that only 41 percent approve of his handling of the presidency, down 14 points since December, while 53 percent disapprove. And Quinnipiac late Tuesday found he’s hit a new low with 39 percent approval, while a majority said he’s not honest.

No president can lead from such a deep, discredited hole. And his ratings are likely to keep sinking because, once the Web site is fixed, millions more “shoppers” will get sticker shocks from the new policies ObamaCare requires. And next year comes the employer mandate, which will shake up the policies and prices of millions of others.

So Clinton’s advice that Obama “let them keep what they got,” is, in a vacuum, a perfectly logical escape route.

But even if it were possible, the reversal would be a dagger in the heart of ObamaCare. The whole Rube Goldberg scheme depends on using insurance policies to distribute wealth from healthy young Americans to older, sicker ones. Letting people keep the policies they have effectively repeals the president’s signature achievement.

Clinton’s advice, then, won’t fly. But if he, or anybody else, has another idea about how Obama can wriggle out of the mess he created, they should speak up very quickly. Otherwise
, it will be too late to make a difference.

  2. Dear Leaders big problem is that this lie hits Americans right where they live. Slick Willy lies about a BJ...who gives a shit? Nixon lies about some third rate B&E...does it really matter to you as an individual? Obama and crew spin their tale about Benghazi and a host of other stuff...really doesn't impact the masses on a personal level. But this one, this hits tens of millions right between the eyes, and it will keep hitting each and every month as the checks get written. There's just no way for them to spin it. He said one thing, said it over and over again. His minions said it too, and they said it over and over again. We have video evidence of the lie being repeated over and over again. Now the truth comes out and it's totally different than what we were told, and it's different in a big way.
Liberals have been dating Obama for years. They were told over and over again he was a liar. An empty suit. All show, no substance. They refused to believe it. Now they, and everyone else just caught him red handed fucking their sister. A few of the true believers will blame the sister, but he has been exposed for what he is.

  4. "Pew finds that only 41 percent approve of his handling of the presidency"

Astounding it could be that high.

This is what is wrong with America. Half the population are total whack jobs...supported by taxes of those that are not.

The other wealth distribution not talked about is the person buying Obamacare with no subsidies.
A person making over 95k pay full rates.
Full rates happen to be much higher then current market rates, even with all the added junk that is covered.

I would like to see the actuaries that underwrote the unsubsidized policies.
There is no way these premiums are relative to actual risks.
The premiums for those making over 95K are arbitrary (tax).

You are being too kind, it's much worse than that as the "full rate" number for individuals is $45,961. Subsidies are determined at 400% Federal Poverty Level (FPL) income which makes a person eligible (up to 400%) or ineligible at $1 higher for a government insurance premium subsidy.

For 2013 the cut-off numbers are $45,960 for an individual, $62,040 for a family of two (ie, husband + wife), $94,200 for a family of four. Those numbers are for the 48 contiguous states and D.C. (Alaska and Hawaii are slightly different).

No subsidies here ... but wait, there is a marriage penalty also. Why do 2 individuals (unmarried) get up to $46K each before subsidies disappear and a married couple only gets $62K (or $31K/person)?

That's our situation. Then we add in that we are both fit, eat healthy, at/near ideal weight and NOT in the 2/3 of this country who is overweight or obese. I've seen my doctor once a year the past 4 years .. that is for my annual physical, paid for by my catastrophic policy. We pay $4300/year in premiums now ($364/month) and Odumbocare quotes are $1000/month, or $12,000 per year. Current deductible is $10K and with Odumbo it would be $12.7K/year. And I belive that many overweight/obese people have pre-existing conditions due to their eating crap at all you can eat buffets, fast food, not exercising, drinking to excess, some use drugs, smoke, etc. In other words many of these people CHOOSE to abuse their health and yet they will get the same premiums as those who exercise, eat healthy, etc.

WTF is affordable about that? And like many our age we have no use (need) for maternity coverage, pediatric dental and vision care or even mental health coverage.
