Vertical Spreads for Aggressive Growth

Discussion in 'Journals' started by Cache Landing, Jan 27, 2006.

  1. Alright, now that the move is complete and I have a bit more time on my hands, I will be looking to rev things up a bit here. Looking for JUNE positions. If any of you have any prospects, feel free to list them.

If SPX retraces back to 1295-ish then I will be opening some bull puts.

Got my eye on AAPL, HPQ, AMD, and MRVL.

What do you think about RHAT & CME?

I made a nice profit on a debit spread on RHAT last month. It's rolling off now and could be possible candidate for a bear call.

  3. I don't love the chart for CME. I think there might be better trades out there.

RHAT has some potential. It would be nice if IV was a bit higher, but we might be able to find a good entry.

  4. Just thought I would mention also that I have an order in for some SPX MAY bull puts as it wouldn't tie up any more margin.

  6. Cache,

Can you do me a favor? Given that this thread has prospects of longevity, would you be so kind as to ask the administrators to alter the thread title by changing the spelling of Aggresive to Aggressive?

I get a little "Monk" style tick/wince every time I see it. I try my best to repress the inner-pedant in me but he seems to have made me type this post nonetheless. Sorry! :D

  7. you don't think it adds character? Yeah, it bothers my inner monk too. I just haven't ever gotten around to fixing it. I'll get on it.:)

  9. MRVL is testing support again at $54 with relatively high IV. I'm considering a JUN position, in which case the opening of that position will likely include closing out the MAY bull puts. IOW, I'll either be rolling out to JUN (and maybe adding a bit) or reversing the position if the support doesn't hold.

  10. mrvl reports on the 18th, just in case you missed it, if numbers are bad that support won't mean much :)
