USA will be bankrupt

1. Thanks for your good wishes.

Which high taxation socialist country do you live in?
2. I'm in Australia enjoying 7.25% on my cash in the bank living in my beautiful FULLY PAID FOR house and laughing my arse off at IDIOT AMERICANS who will undoubtedly be stupid enough to vote republican yet again!

3. yeah keep laughing until the commodity boom ends and your back to an exchange rate of 50 cents to the dollar.

I love these countries that think they can keep growing and booming and it does matter what the USA is doing. decoupling my ass.

And just wait till one of those dems wins who talk about pulling out of free trade pacts or "responsible" trade, NOT free trade wins. THe rest of the world will beg for 4 more years of bush.
4. You are generalizing.

What makes you think the majority here are suffering? My beautiful home is FULLY PAID for as well.

Be careful Alex, loud mouth obnoxious assholes usually get what's coming to them.

Cheers Mate!
5. decoupling is an ongoing process. within a few decades process willbe complete.
6. Just another cocksucking, funny talking ingrate from the hell hole of the world.

The Queen was right to put all you assholes where u are--far from the civilized non-pig fucking population of the world.

LMFAO!! "To the Queen"
7. You are so right. The world complains (out of jealousy) about the USA but when shit hits the fan guess who they come running too?

Europeans can't even handle Bosnia by themselves.

8. You are right. In a few decades the USA won't have a need for the rest of the World.

Cures for all diseases, free energy, artifical intelligence will be here within 30-50 years.

Who will need chicken shit countries to buy things from?? Not the USA.

9. Go easy on our "Down Under Mate". He lives in a low IQ country that has produced no new technology, no innovations, no medical breakthroughs. He has probably loaded himself up with ale and decided to make an ass of himself on this forum.
10. You are so right. I think the USA should start charging heavily for "Military Protection and Assistance"
11. I love America but have to agree with you (if their stupid enough to put McCain in office).

As a Canadian I will be happy to sit here and sell them $200 barrels of our oil.

Sheik Joab :D
12. The only people that we need to be protected against are the people that hate YOU not us.

Mind your own business and respect others and people will "mostly" leave you alone.

Us Canadians specialize in middle of the road politics and it works fine 95% of the time.
13. Be careful what you wish for. Canada is extremely tied to the US economy. The US started slowing down last fall and what happens in the USA hit's Canada 6 months later. From what I hear, Canadian transport companies are closing and manufacturing has slowed in Canada due to the high Cdn dollar and the slowdown here. Real Estate has slowed considerably in Eastern Canada according to my sources.
Did you know that the entire Canadian steel industry is foreign owned now? Oil may be next.
14. Those people hate you as much as they hate US but they think of you as easy target. You are next on their to-do list.
15. Canada is not an easy target, the US Military will protect them even if they don't appreciate it.
16. A little footnote to your prediction: Most these scientific advancements will be engineered by people of Jewish ethnicity (at least most of the medical & health related progress) ... yet somehow you'll still have ignorant anti-Semites who benefit tremendously from Jewish inventions one hour, only to bitterly curse about 'them damn Jews ruining the world' the next.
17. The fact that USA haters in other countries post thousands of tmes on an American board speaks volumes in of itself.

They can't even decouple themselves from our Internet.

18. It means for me one thing: if country like US didn't exist it would be necessary to create it. The country that would become the best of the breed.
19. how nice another jealous little brother from up north. you better pray McCain wins, not only for $200 oil, but to keep NAFTA.

Thinks he's so much smarter then most americans, this is the smug, arrogant attitude of most canadians toward americans
20. Looking back, I think creation of a Jewish state rather then as a secular state combining Arabs and Jews was a huge mistake.

If the world had known how much grief it would have caused then I think it would never have happened.

21. An Englishman wanted to become an Irishman, so he visited a doctor to find out how to go about this. "Well" said the doctor, "this is a very delicate operation and there is a lot that can go wrong. I will have to remove half your brain". "That's OK" said the Englishman. "I've always wanted to be Irish and I'm prepared to take the risk".

The operation went ahead but the Englishman woke to find a look of horror on the face of the doctor. "I'm so terribly sorry!!" the doctor said. "Instead of removing half the brain, I've taken the whole brain out". The patient replied, "No worries, mate!!"
22. Probably in New Jersey or New York.

Just the facts!
23. He is smug and arrogant, meanwhile Steven Harper CONSERVATIVE is Prime Minister of Canada and is doing an excellent job from what I hear. The Canadian Liberal party is all fucked up, just like the US Democrats.
24. Excellent Commentary

It is quite obvious that many countries of the world do not hate the USA....however they do hate the Bush/Cheney Administration....These people have very few places in the world they can land without a lot of angry people around....What does this tell you ....

It will be interesting to see how the world reacts when this fiasco team is gone....

The USA is truly loved by the world....really....

Be patient for just a little while longer....and watch and feel what happens when these hideous derelicts and their unforgivable insults to mankind are forever gone....

The demand and innovation spurred by the USA are the productive glue of the world....and the world loves it for what it is....

Watch what happens....
25. I think Alex in Oz has passed out, probably due to a lack of brain activity.
26. Q:What's an Australian's idea of foreplay?

A:Are you awake sis?
27. ...and if the entire world hadn't just sat there with it's thumb up it's ass while six million Jews were being butchered, we'd have just stayed in Europe and left the Middle East alone.

Cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS: I bet one of those six million (or their descendants) would have cured at least one out of those four by now.
28. The world didn't have is thumb up its ass. The world was committed to fighting a World War.

Stalin killed 20 million of his own people by straving them to death. Mao killed a similar number.

Were the decendants and surviors of Stalin and Mao given their own Franchise as pay back?? No. They just got more of the same from the next tryant. Had they owned the world's banking system things may have been different for them.

Jews dont' have any more of a claim to injustice then any other unlucky group of people.

29. Do you want law and order to rule the world or do you prefer the world to be dominated by anarchy and disobedience?
30. I have sat on this board for the last 8 years screaming at the top of my lungs, warning anyone that would listen about Bush and the nightmare course he has put the US on.

In the first 4 years I was mocked and attacked and belittled over and over.

NOW your all finally waking up and wonder what the fuck happened

The entire world has stood by and watch the man drive you all into a mountain of debt and the only people that have got rich are him, his daddy and all their oil buddy friends.

Sorry but my patience ran out and I gave up caring about you all after you re-elected him for a second term.

Wake up and put a man like Ron Paul in office.!

It's time for radical action and it isn't McCain, Obama or Hilary they are all cut from the same clothe.
31.
32. where is this mountain of debt? last time i checked debt to GDP has only gone up slightly http://zfacts.com/p/318.html. Agree with the iraq war or not, most people belive that increased spending was the correect thing to do after 9/11

If the USA can borrow at 3.5% for 10 years, while inflation is 4% and tax the intrest on the money it pays out at 35%. Dont forget this is while the USA grows at 6% a year (notional gdp).

OUr debt to gdp is very low when you look at other countries in europe and japan
33. Wow someone with open mined that can see beyond the TV, bravo!
Do you have the action plan?
34. Sorry my friend, I'm just a simple man not a guru !

You poor folks got yourselves into this mess and your going to have to get yourselves out.

If it's any consolation most of the free world still believes in you and is rooting for you BUT it's up to the US people now.

I will leave you with this quote from a true genius.

"You can not solve a problem with the same thinking that created it"

Albert Einstein

35. You are assuming that most Americans dislike the current administration and the Republicans.

Well, I have news for you, the LOUDEST most OBNOXIOUS mouths are Democrats. Republicans are generally a "conservative" quiet bunch, they don't have demonstrations, parades etc but they do VOTE

The Canadian CBC has a liberal bias of course so it is not surprising that they fill the airwaves and Canadians ears with anti republican rhetoric.

BTW for your info, I agree regarding McCain, Obama and Hillary. It is interesting (and disappointing) that in a country of 300 million people this is the choice we have. That said, McCain is currently in the lead over both Hillary and Obama (in the polls).

BTW the Democrats have done "Fuck All" since they took over Congress, as a matter of fact the economy has weakened considerably since.

36. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..................................

37. Let's send about $130 billion more to feed the war in Iraq, and let's just borrow and spend some more because it's not our money; it's borrowed money with interest that we'll have to pay for the next 20 years until we're really bankrupt. It's always the congress’s fault for not able to put a hold on the uncontrollable leader whose ranking is about as low as any president in history; LOL it was the dems that voted, where are those republicans when we needed them. It’s always the dems fault, and I believed it was Clinton’s $230 billion surplus that started this whole mess that we are now staring at a whopping $727.6 billions in deficits…Great work America, and hail to our great leader G.W.B.

38. Hey asswipe -- we have our problems but we're the greatest and most powerful nation in the history of the world and will continue to be. Take American innovations out of the world and it would be a totally different place and not for the better. We wouldn't even be having this exchange without American technology, you piece of shit.

39. I hear Australia can't even keep the lights on. Power problems?
40. a country dominated by traders ie liquidity providers and lawyers is destined for failure.
41. Actually that's my country - South Africa - although I live in the States.

The States is the big boy - and the world is jealous of it....combined with the current twat for a president and highly scandalous government (but that is true for 99% of countries anwyay).

Australia is largely a commodities economy - high commodities prices eventually leads to overproduction which leads to oversupply which leads to commodities falling which leads to producer companies falling - that's the cycle....unless it's different this time round.

42. I once heard a saying that has profited me well for most of my life.

If you want to know the truth - follow the money

As that applies to this situation:

Bush/ Texas / Oil Companies

Simple really !

Exxon Mobile - The richest corporation in the world - coincidence ?
43. Actually Canadians should be thankful for high oil prices. The tar sands were moth balled in the 1990's.
Cost of production to get the oil out of the Tar Sands is about $30 bucks a barrel.

Americans are still paying less for gas than Canadians due to high Cdn taxes. About $3.25-3.50 a US gallon here vs $1.15/liter in Canada ($4.40 equivalent/US gallon).

Great deal, you have the oil and you pay more.

44. Hey 666 Lucifer-Freemasonic cockroach, Mexicans jump over boarder and are richer then Americans because they have nothing, and Americans have over $80 000 of depth per person. people start to weakling up ,and people know that you are creating the New World Order to enslave them, just watch soon you will get stoned for what you have don to Americans
45. Why don't you go post your anti american bullshit on your own country's website, go here:

46. Actually you are anti-American because you hiding the facts from people to make sure they don’t know what is going on in their own country and dragging them in to slavery.
Factories getting closed, people loosing jobs, prices sky racket .New World Order Elites are doing that to crush people, to take away all they have including homes, and freedom.
47. 90% of what is wrong with international relationships can be traced to the thoughts and behaviors right here in this thread.

All of you nationalist pseudonyms - from whatever country - here in cyberspace should give it a rest. Really.
48. Who cares about policy and politics?!!!

Everybody keep your eye on the REAL news!!

"The pop star was involved in a minor traffic accident late Saturday.

No one was injured and no vehicles were damaged, authorities said."

OMG!!! Thank goodness they are keeping us well-informed on the minor accidents!!

That way when there is a real fender-bender, we can be sure they'll be right on top of it!!

Where were these crack reporters during that whole Iraq/aluminum tubes thing...?

Oh well, at least they are on the BALL on the important stuff!
49. I have never heard such a crock of Shit!

Where do you get this propaganda?
Which country do you live in?
50. I live where the Jesus walked.
51. Democrats have a much lower approval rating then Bush. However why confuse the facts?

Our system was designed to be a bottoms up grassroots system. Not a top down one.

Our biggest problems is we have a elected a bunch of fools to congress and until we throw those rats out the President can't do that much.

Get rid of the Waxmans, Reids, Peloskis, Durbin's et.al and replace them with those that want to get rid of as much government as we can.

52. I'm an indpependent - that said - are you kidding me?

GWB and the Republican Congress grew the government and debt greater than the days of LBJ.

The greatest threat we have to our government is the special interest lobbies and corporate welfare.

I'm voting Democrat this election. The Republicans had their turn and blew it. Big time.

Republicans = Socialism for the Rich 1%

Democrats = Socialism for the bottom 99%

I'll take the Democrats.

if we're going to be screwed either way, I'd rather benefit somewhat and get hurt less.
53. No I am not kidding and as usual your reaction to facts are typical of Socialist's.

Congressional approval rating is in the high teens.

BTW, only 25% of Democrats consider Hillary Clinton "trustworthy".

As far as Democratic Presidents are concerned, check out the morons that were elected as President.

FDR --- Turned WW2 into a cluster fuck.
Kennedy - Drug addict, Sex addict, Bay of Pigs, got himself killed by the Mafia.
LBJ-- "Great Society fiasco" Vietnam
Carter- Screwed the Israeli's, lost Iran
Clinton- Bribed by the Chinese, ignored the war on terror, screwed employees, Rapist, Liar, Impeached, disbarred.

54. I'm not quite sure about those #s. I wouldn't hold any illusion. I think both parties are guilty of 'entitlement for the top 5%' more than we readily realize, proxy to ownership of government by the corporation.

Below is closer to the truth.

55. I hav e been a funder manager for years and the company i work for has an office in Sydney.... The on going joke is how broke and cheap the Aussies are. Three words for Aussies

1. Cheap

2. Dumb

3. Broke
56. John (jficquette):

My point is not about popularity, but results. The Republicans were/are not true conservatives - they indebted our nation unnecessarily - they need to clean their house. And I can care less about your characterization of past democrats - again, I have voted pretty evenly for both parties, and even voted for Perot in '92. Blind faith in a party is what corrupts it. Free yourself from being a blind supporter of any party - that's one thing we Americans need to do more of.

And when foreigners criticize us, who cares?! The kneejerk patritotic angry response only makes us follow the politicians that use patriotism as a last resort.

I agree with you - my 99%/1% is arbitrary-nonetheless there is a large distinction amongst those that benefit from government largesse and those that do not.

I like to think myself more of a liberterian - but that is a concept that most of the electorate fears - and why? Because both wealthy and poor will have to actually WORK and be subject to risk.
57. Americans: lions led by donkeys.

58. Quite the contrast to encouraging and teaching children to become suicide bombers, don't you think?

No you don't think.
59. I thank you to the poster to presented the videos.

I wish the dicussion afterwords would have delt more or less on whether or not these videos are of the conspiracy theory type or whether they actually have validity.
60. Thanks for posting that. I have seen some of his earlier interviews, I just didn't recognize him in this one. What's most disheartening to me is that a third party has almost no chance. No system is perfect, but from what I have studied, a parliamentary system is a more fair representation for the ppl. Why do we have an electoral college, it's a scam.

I have many friends and some relatives in Canada and in Europe. From my understanding, it's a much more equitable in that this is power sharing based on popular vote unless a party wins a majority. There is none of this electoral college BS and only two parties.

Canadians I have spoken with like Harper, but don't want him to get a majority in office. Similar to true cliches like follow the money, absolute power absolutely corrupts. IMO so of the dumbest things Bush did was when the Republicans controlled everything. There was no check and balance period until recently. You want some pork for your district go ahead as long as you support my war friend.

While I am more liberal than most on this forum, I am concerned that if the Dems take control we will have out of control spending for anything that please any poor folks similar to the war machine Bush and Repub. controlled Congress has had recently. They still control most of Congress just not as completely as they did. My other fear is that there will be blanket amnesty for all illegals. if Dems get absolute power.

I fear though that is a true independent say Ron Paul got elected he would get whacked within 6 months, sad to say.
61. Americans: lions led by donkeys

This is so true...
62. I agree the Republican Party that Goldwater stood for has degenerated into a bunch of Moralist's more interested in trying to run peoples lives while embracing the Nanny State as much as the Socialists.

While the Republicans worry about trival issues such as Abortion and Gay marriage the country drowns in $50 Trillion dollars of unfunded entitlements.

Both Republicans and Democrats want the Government to run the show they just disagree what behavior the Government should sponsor.

Libertarian views

"Signing autographs at the Fiesta Bowl parade in 1983.By the 1980s, with Ronald Reagan as president and the growing involvement of the religious right in conservative politics, Goldwater's libertarian views on personal issues were revealed, which he believed were an integral part of true conservativism. Goldwater viewed abortion as a matter of personal choice, not intended for government intervention."

As a passionate defender of personal liberty, he saw the religious right's views as an encroachment on personal privacy and individual liberties. In his 1980 Senate reelection campaign, Goldwater won support from religious conservatives but in his final term voted consistently to uphold legalized abortion and, in 1981, gave a speech on how he was angry about the bullying of American politicians by religious organizations, and would "fight them every step of the way".[18] Goldwater also disagreed with the Reagan administration on certain aspects of foreign policy (e.g. he opposed the decision to mine Nicaraguan harbors). Notwithstanding his prior differences with Dwight Eisenhower, Goldwater in a 1986 interview rated him the best of the seven Presidents with whom he had worked.

After his retirement in 1987, Goldwater described the conservative Arizona Governor Evan Mecham as “hardheaded” and called on him to resign, and two years later stated that the Republican Party had been taken over by a “bunch of kooks.” In a 1994 interview with the Washington Post the retired senator said,

“ When you say “radical right” today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye. ”

In response to Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell's opposition to the nomination of Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court, of which Falwell had said, “Every good Christian should be concerned,” Goldwater retorted: “Every good Christian ought to kick Falwell right in the ass.”[19] Goldwater also had harsh words for his onetime political protege, President Reagan, particularly after the Iran-Contra Affair became public in 1986. Journalist Robert MacNeil, a friend of Goldwater's from the 1964 Presidential campaign, recalled interviewing him in his office shortly afterward. "He was sitting in his office with his hands on his cane...and he said to me, 'Well, aren't you going to ask me about the Iran arms sales?' It had just been announced that the Reagan administration had sold arms to Iran. And I said, 'Well, if I asked you, what would you say?' He said, 'I'd say it's the goddamn stupidest foreign policy blunder this country's ever made!'",[20] though aside from the Iran-Contra scandal, Goldwater thought nonetheless that Reagan was a good president.[21] Also, in 1988 during that year's presidential campaign, he pointedly told vice-presidential nominee Dan Quayle at a campaign event in Arizona "I want you to go back and tell George Bush to start talking about the issues." [4]

Some of Goldwater's statements in the 1990s aggravated many social conservatives. He endorsed Democrat Karan English in an Arizona congressional race, urged Republicans to lay off Clinton over the Whitewater scandal, and criticized the military's ban on homosexuals: “Everyone knows that gays have served honorably in the military since at least the time of Julius Caesar.”[22] He also said, “You don't have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight.” A few years before his death he went so far as to address the right wing, "Do not associate my name with anything you do. You are extremists, and you've hurt the Republican Party much more than the Democrats have."[23]

In 1996 he told Bob Dole, whose own presidential campaign received lukewarm support from conservative Republicans: “We're the new liberals of the Republican Party. Can you imagine that?” In that same year, with Senator Dennis DeConcini, Goldwater endorsed an Arizona initiative to legalize medical marijuana against the will of social conservatives."

While the Republicans have lost their way, the Socialist Democrats have never even tried to look for it.

63. seriously why was this thread moved from economics to "chit chat"

64. not exactly. the uneducated boobs on ET who keeping on chanting US *1 are in for a rude awakening. Keep thinking that food riots are limited to nations like Haiti etc. you are in for a rude shock.

"We find most people are jealous of our lifestyle.. BBQ, golden beaches and tanned bikini clad women

is that the best america has to offer ?
what a sad joke?
as to BBQ http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080414/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/uruguay_big_barbecue
65. Jesus the Jew?

66. You're an idiot. There's not a lot more to add in response to such a stupid comment.

67. it was meant as a joke but with more than a grain of truth. feel free to add your response as my remark has obviously has hit the core of how you judge yourself ie the trader.
68. You need to lay off the camel dung.... if by "depth" you were talking about our national debt, it's closer to $30,000 per person. As a % of GDP it's no big deal, not to mention that says nothing of national assets.

69. My response to your remark that the United States is dominated by traders and lawyers? I gave it... you're an idiot. I guess I could elaborate by saying it shows that your understanding of the U.S. is roughly comparable to an ant's understanding of quantum mechanics. Does that help you?
70. The last republican to run in the US was Ron Reagan..
71. Well,

If it ever gets bad enough in the US, we can just take over your country, take your house, your bank account, and let you mow the lawn.
