Softbank has 65,000 employees now. how are they going to double their company size? I think investing 50bn and creating jobs means : buy a company worth 50billion and not fire 50,000 people.

 

I think he means that this investment will create 50k new jobs.

 

Did they say if they were hiring Americans?

 

By investing he probably means making loans available... no way they are going to almost double in size in US... Softbank's market cap is about 65bln USD.

Or they meant 50bln Yen.... hahaaa

It's a private equity fund run by SoftBank that will make an investment. Likely they will buy t-mobile which might have 50,000 jobs. Clearly it's crony capitalism. Trump claims a win, and SoftBank gets to merge t-mobile and sprint to continue the consolidation trend in wireless.
