Trading on ES (E-mini SP500)

I would like to start this thread about trading on ES futures and discuss moments about order flow, dom, vwap with pro traders)

 

As none of those things matter, you probably won't get much play.

 

And what things matter in your opinion?

We share a kindred spirit. I see you're in the Netherlands... and I'm half Dutch on my father's side.

The only thing that matters (and pays) is having your position in tune with price.

Spend your effort learning/practicing "Price TA". Everything else is distraction.

if order flow dom vwap can make money, how many thousands of people wud have done it already..

 

HFT make lots of money from order flow and dom.
You can be NEO and defeat them, don't give up, don't listen to naysayers like dozu

 

Most things work, just are they being applied well enough.

I use VWAP as a universal reference point a lot and I have a trade or two based on pretty reliable behaviours around it. The volume profile.. meh, useful for some I'm sure but after a couple of years you can just look left on the chart and see all you need.

Gap closes in the ES etc. can make nice money with orders waiting etc. though large midweek gaps like yesterday are rare/world event things.
