today...my best day ever trading the TF...my best day trading in a truly long time...I am very thankful... +6.2 points trading the TF on 14 r/t trades...thankful...
Didn't enter some great entries in the morning. Tried to enter BVF at 15.51 missed it by 2 cents and shot up to 16.68. Entered some bad trades but had stops in place. Finally using automated stops. Had to go to jury duty so couldn't trade all day. Even though I lost today, didn't upset me a bit because I'm much more disciplined. Does anyone know if there's oco basket order capability in laser? Please pm me. Thanks.
Man...up $300 until the last hour, finished down $250. I am going to either put on trades at 2pm, or take off any trades I had on at 2pm. End of day has no bearing on the movement earlier in the days.
+200 AMZN puts daytrade & +210 BP puts swingtrade "I'm just trying to be very careful. I hope I don't change" <-- from my quote yesterday. Being careful and leaving a lot of money on the table go together. Still hurts like crazy! I got a very nice entry on the AMZN puts, but being very careful of the profits which came immediately meant lowering my exit signals. I got out too soon. If I held using my hold-time signal (of 30-45 minutes), I would have gotten an extra 500 profit. Ouch! If I have to choose between being careful (leaving money on the table) and having big drawdowns/losses; I would choose being careful. I'm just trying to see if there's more room to improve. Exited my BP puts swingtrade for profits. Very, very thankful as I was down as much as 900 on it last Friday. All of the lost value came from the "implosion" of the IV from 104% to 72%. That's the risk of buying "overpriced" options. Glad BP stock went down enough yesterday and today for my negative delta on the puts to provide me with profits to exit the trade today. BP IV still low compared to last week.
w00t killer day. Made back my loss from last week, finally. Didn't trade monday, and I made $200 yesterday.
+20 (net profits) Emotions got me. I'm thankful I didn't lose more money. Gotta keep the emotions in check. I once again was shaken out of my GS put position only to see 200+ profits left on the table materialize within 5 minutes. I go on tilt and forced a trade on X puts even when the entry was not that good. It could have been a winner if I just waited for the correct entry... I'm thankful the position recovered enough to only lose 50 "it's not a race, it's a marathon..."
I stopped posting the last 2 weeks due to vacation and decided not to continue for a number of reasons. Just wanted to thank those that post regularly. It is the day to day grinding out profits that matters, not the occasional big day. Perhaps there will be a thread at the end of the year to discuss profits for the year.
