Tokyo Evacuation

  1. Experts are calling for the evacuation of Tokyo. Experts explained that people living 200 to 250 kilometres from the plant have to be evacuated. Experts say that the total amount of radiation leaked exceed amounts released from Chernobyl, making Fukushima the worst nuclear disaster in history. At least one billion becquerels a day of radiation continue to leak from Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant after the March earthquake and tsunami.

Japan's former prime minister Naoto Kan said evacuations on such a scale will make Japan being unable to function. 30 million people from Tokyo and surrounding areas are to be evacuated as a result of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Solar flare could unleash nuclear holocaust across planet Earth, forcing hundreds of nuclear power plants into total meltdowns

    imagine fukushima x15

nuclear plants are hyper dangerous to our civilization.

one week without enough power in the grid, and we're done.

the only places to hide: new zealand, south africa, south argentina.

  4. Imagine trying to evacuate any city in the US. People trekking from McDonalds to McDonalds, starbuck to starbucks, losing their babies, fatties stopping to catch there breath every 50 steps. They end up traveling for days only to find out they made a great big circle and end up back home. The road is littered with phone chargers, Sarah Palin hardcover books (only $2.59 at Borders) and unopened letters from Sallie Mae wondering when you going to make a payment on you student loan cause this is America and everyone gets a college edjucation.

    Reading is fundamental.

The WSJ article say that Tokyo is considering more evacuations not that they are considering evacuating Tokyo.
"The areas under review include one neighborhood each in two cities, and could affect more than 180 families."

    As for the ABC article....
What you wrote: "Japan's former prime minister Naoto Kan said evacuations on such a scale will make Japan being unable to function. 30 million people from Tokyo and surrounding areas are to be evacuated as a result of the Fukushima nuclear disaster"

What he said: "Japan's former prime minister Naoto Kan has revealed he contemplated evacuating as many as 30 million people from Tokyo and surrounding areas during the Fukushima nuclear disaster."

    hahaha.....

First off there is not even a plan in place to evacuate any major city in the US, they will tell you there is, but in reality there isn't, the roads and the way the infrastructure was built over the last 100 years is not capable to moving millions of people all at once.

I saw video of people trying to leave during the hurricane there were miles and miles and miles of cars backed up.

You make a good point though :)

How is that different than a major city anywhere else in the world? Having the capability to move millions of people at once would be prohibitively expensive.
