Nice to see our tax dollars hard at work indoctrinating kids. Listen to a Professor Tell Students That âRacist, Misogynistic, Money-Grubbing Peopleâ Want to Prevent Minorities From Voting A professor at a Connecticut public university was captured on audio this week warning students that âwe will live in a very, very, very differing kind of countryâ if Republicans win control of the U.S. Senate. âRacist, misogynist, money-grubbing people have so much power over the rest of us. And want things to go backânot to 1955, but to 1855,â professor Brent Terry added to his Introduction to Creative Writing class Monday morning. The audio was captured by a student and published Tuesday by conservative college news website Campus Reform. <iframe width="620" height="349" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/c3ZJB53PX74" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> In the recording, the Eastern Connecticut State University professor continued also warned that âthere are a lot of people out there that do not want black people to vote, do not want Latinos to vote. Do not want old people to vote, or young people to vote. Because generally, people like you are liberal.â A spokesperson for the university told Campus Reform that professors have complete control over their classrooms. âOur faculty has academic freedom to conduct their classes in whatever way they choose, this is not a university matter,â the spokesperson said. Campus Reform reported that Terry did not respond to a request for comment. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...eople-want-to-prevent-minorities-from-voting/
"Unless they should be so obnoxious as to spout off ancient and long forgotten topics like liberty or taxation without representation." Seriously - is there anyone out there anywhere that thinks that if some prof where up on a podium screaming "Hang the Niggers - hang them now, hang them high!" that the administration would default to "Oh, his classroom is his."? Of course not. Certain opinions and certain words and certain phrases are OK. A hard left viewpoint, no worries. Venture too far to the right, well that is a different story. Universities are supposed to be areas of learning, unless you want to learn something the libtards do not like.
I can easily list a dozen things that would have this bozo out of there faster thanyou can say PC, eg opposing gay marriage or anything on the homo agenda, AGW scepticism, opposition to affirmative action, support for gun rights, opposition to illegal immigration or amnesty, etc etc. Then the statement from the university would be along the lines of we do not tolerate hate speech or anything that makes students uncomfortable.
I think the prof is right. But those of you who say he can only stay in "power" in his university as long as he strikes a liberal cord are probably correct, also. I'm always laughing at the people who want to get everyone in America to vote. Why should I help to get out the vote? There are tons of people I wish wouldn't vote. This prof isn't one of them--I mean the very people he is talking about. There is a group in the US who want to run the place entirely for themselves, not for everyone. I keep voting against them, despite the fact that they lower my taxes and put money in my pocket. The kind of country I live in is more important to me. It's not really possible, in the modern world, to build a wall around yourself. If the US isn't a good place with opportunities for everyone to advance, it will come back to bite everyone here in the ass eventually, either through violence or lost opportunities or isolationism or other countries creating such opportunities and therefore eating our lunch. When you do create opportunities for everyone, it is inevitable that some will squander them, use you, take advantage, etc. You can't control all that. But other people will use those opportunities to benefit, and they will help to build a great country. This is what has already happened. This country was built by disadvantaged people from elsewhere: western Europeans, then eastern Europeans, then Africans, then Asians, then Jews, then Mexicans and El Salvadorans and Cubans, then Middle Easterners, then more Asians, etc., etc.....probably I forgot a few people and I'm sorry. In my genealogy, which includes a lot of dirt poor sharecropper nobodies from 3 different races, most of them flaming bigots BTW, the majority of my ancestors were the kind of people I don't want to live next door to now. But they worked their way up (the magic word here is work). There is nothing magical about the US: this has happened elsewhere. Hell, look at the Aussies, originally a bunch of felons. Try to think into the future a little bit. Why do we want to toss people out who came here to work, even if they do soak up a few resources? Their kids will do better, and their kids' kids better still. Anyone who wants to come to my country and work is welcome as far as I am concerned. Yes, there will be some friction, but together we can all make it work. Please try to think in terms of a few generations, and have a little mercy on the WORKING poor. They will crawl up the ladder in time, or their kids will. After all, where did you come from, really? Who were your parents, or grandparents, or great grandparents? No royalty in my blood-far from it. But compared to the rest of the world, I live like a queen, even after paying more in taxes than most people here even make.
