On Wednesday, Air Italy announced plans to launch flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco from its main hub in Milan. However, reaction to the news from American, Delta, United, and nearly a dozen members of the US Senate was swift and negative. It's the presence of Air Italy's second-largest shareholder, Qatar Airways, that has ruffled so many feathers. With this development, the nastiest feud in the airline industry is back on. Whenever any foreign airline company extends a flight to the US soil, the US airline industry starts a feud, and it's always a nasty feud. They can fly to hub cities all around the world but God forbid if any foreign airline companies want to extend their flights to the USA. They did this with Ethiad Airline back when they expanded their flights to USA. The thing is if these US airlines have put this much effort into improving their service standards instead of starting nasty feud, they probably wouldn't need to worry that much about foreign competition because if you are the best, people would still choose you no matter how much competition there is. But when you do this
to your paying customers, then yeah you would need to be concerned about the competition taking your business away and you should.
