Testosterone:Viagra for the boardroom

  1. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Drugs/...e-health-risks/story?id=17203276#.UZt9j73LLE0

"Testosterone, the steroid hormone banned in sports, has quietly become the newest wonder drug for men in the workplace.
Whether it's in police departments or Fortune 500 companies, the drug is being called "Viagra for the boardroom.
Running and Power, both 48, are part of an explosion in testosterone use among men older than 40.
"It's like somebody came and erased 15 years off your life," Power said.
It affects the metabolism and can lead to increased muscle mass, sex drive and can even help a man's mood but it doesn't affect everyone in the same way and it's not without controversy."

" Running said. "I mean, I like looking at myself in the mirror. I look freaking awesome.

"If I was marketing testosterone, I would be marketing in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week and Newsweek and Forbes," he said. "I'm completely sold. I mean I will never not do this."

Edit: I thought I posted this under Psychology. A moderator might move it there...

  2. If you have an enlarged prostate either from cancer or BPH, taking testosterone is like dumping gasoline on a fire.

  4. If it weren't for exogenous testosterone, I'd be tired all the time, and grumpy. With testosterone, I get out of bed raring to go in the mornings, and live well. Btw, anyone who thinks Suzanne Somers is a blond ditz should re-think that one. She knows her hormone replacement, and yes, I'd still hit it! Lol!!!!!!!

  5. Kills me that my ex Wife looks like a younger version of my Suzanne.:(

  6. Out of curiosity Leapup, what are your testosterone levels (free and total, ng/dl) now that you are taking it? What were your baseline levels before you started on it?

  7. Before was 240ng/dl.

    Now I'm around 800.

  8. Mine was something like 169, and worse even getting 400 cc shots it's still below normal. I gone from once a month to once every three weeks.

I am fucking my wife's brains out though. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

  9. Oh yes, testosterone can make for a sore pussy, no question.:D

And yes, 169 is in the low range. Much of it imo has to do with exposure to things like lead (which can be found in drinking water.) The liberals HATE the fact that us guys can replace our own hormones, but what they don't know is low t can cause heart disease, hypertension, depression, lack of libido, and even diabetes due to adipose tissue forming around the mid section.

Last, you may want to inject every week as testosterone enanthate, and cypionate have a half life of 11 days. If you inject less, but more often, you'll maintain a steady level of testosterone vs having it spike, then drop in the 2nd-3rd week. My doctor wants me to inject 50mg every three days, but I hate stabbing myself that often, and forget to do the injection. Guarantee if you were to inject once every monday for example, you'd be destroying the Wife's stuff so badly, she'd need a fire extinguisher. LOL!:D

  10. Just had mine tested a week back. Just over 600 ng/dl.

  11. You've got no worries. 600 is good.

  12. That's pretty good isn't it Tao?
That's on my to do list get a detailed blood test. I eat 85% healthy now that I bought a vitamix but I gotta have my ribs occasionally and beer. I can still stay strong and I don't lose muscle mass so far but getting lean is and has been a challange. For you guys taking test how's it affecting the hair loss, I'd like to hold onto my hair for a few more years, but that's looking iffy.

  13. That sounds a bit over the good range:

"Taking all the factors together, researchers found that the healthiest men overall had testosterone levels between 400 to 600 nanograms.
They seemed to enjoy the most benefits and experience the least risks associated with the hormone."

    http://men.webmd.com/features/keep-testosterone-in-balance

    Specially because according to Wiki:

    "Behaviour and personality

Testosterone levels play a major role in risk-taking during financial decisions."

  14. Yeah, doc said it was good. I got it tested because I've been really tired lately. But I guess that's not it.

  15. That's reminds me. My hair has started thinning on top.

I only noticed it happening after starting the injections. It's possible it was already thinning before taking T shots as I had been wearing my hair very short (2mm). I started wearing my hair a little longer roughly the same time so it's hard for me to say.

  16. Oh, no question I've been thinning big time since being on testosterone the last six years. :(
It's called androgenic alopecia. You can try propecia, but it's a known libido killer. Only thing I can think of is a topical that blocks dht at the scalp line. Let me know if you find one that works. Rogaine's pretty weak stuff. Nizoral? Don't know.

  17. It was 2100 in the past. That was me being less than smart by injecting 800mg/week for 8 weeks. Lol
