Social Security For "illegal" Aliens

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by HeSaidSheSaid, Sep 8, 2006.

  1. What are they thinking??? It is already impossible to live on
Social Security alone. If they give benefits to "illegal" aliens who have never contributed, where
does that leave us that have paid into Social Security all our working lives?
The Senate voted this week to allow "illegal" aliens access to
    Social Security benefits.

Attached is an opportunity to sign a petition
that requires citizenship for eligibility to receive social services. If you do not wish to sign the petition yourself, please forward on to anyone you think might be interested.
    PETITION FOR: President Bush

    Mr. President:
The petition below is a protest against the recent vote
of the senate which was to allow illegal aliens access to our social security! We demand that you and all congressional representatives require citizenship for anyone to be eligible for social services in the United States.

Instructions to sign are at the bottom.

  3. First of all Social Security will not work into the future as it is currently designed so anything less than a total overhaul is just political BS.

Many "illegal" immigrants probably do not have a SS#. How are they going to get benefits without a number? This legislation is probably more targeted towards getting the immigrants to sign up for a SS# so that the politicians know where they are.

You have to read between the lines and use your head when evaluating legislation. The title on the bill usually has little to do with the actual goals of the legislation.

  4. I'm not pro or anti immigration BUT...at least you should get your facts straight!

    1. Illegal immigrants have and continue to contribute $BILLIONS every year into SS *especially* into SS account #'s that do not exist or are fake. Since a SS# is required to work and the employers are obligated to contribute/deduct from paycheck into these accounts.

    2. Have you been to a homebuilding site, hotel, restaurant lately? Have you for a minute considered who would be doing these jobs if it weren't for many of these "illegal" immigrants? As a matter of fact, I'd say that the American economy has become so dependent on them that much of American society would stop functioning without these people. Who would produce your vegetables, babysit your kids, clean your houses/stores?

    3. Well, maybe since the US is now so dependent on Chinese stuff, they could arrange for the exportation of several million "legalized" Chinese to the US to do all this work then. Those Chinese would even arrive with their custom "made in China" label. I'm sure somebody would come up with a fancy name for that!

Now, if someone says, Hey! I'm racist and I don't want so many So./Central Americans here, well I can understand BUT to pretend with all this other bullshit that today's illegal immigrants cause this problem or that problem is just a convenient smokescreen.

Every few years this illegal immigration bs pops up on the radar for one reason or another (kind of like the energy issue).

Get yourselves OFF the immigration and energy nipple, and THEN maybe you can do something about it.

it is not true that there is a separate trust fund to pay social security. all social security payments go into the general revenue pot. under current law illegal immigrants do not collect social security retirements, It does not seen unreasonable that illegals should pay a penalty for working in the US etc. illegally
ie not receiving social security benefits.
since social security is nothing but a ponzi scheme it is useful for legal residents to have this whole group of people- illegal immigrants who can never collect. this keeps the scheme going for a longer period of time.

  6. How in the world would this work? Since illegals, if they paid into the system at all , did it under a false SS number, what are we supposed to do? Take their word for it? Give them benefits for using someone else's number?

All this law will do is take identity theft and change it from a problem into our national policy.

  7. Give it up stinking American swine.

Bend over now and get it over with.

  8. I'd say for every $ they put into a fake SS account they take out 10 in welfare, medical, and the expenses for schooling the 5 kids.

  9. Cynical

    Cynical

You are lucky that you happened to come out of a vagina on THIS side of the border. I'll bet if the tables were turned and you could make 10x the income here you wouldn't think twice about crossing the border "illegaly". The fact of the matter is that people cross the border to find work, not to leech. Look up "illegal immigration" on wikipedia and you will find the following:

"...there are several myths associated with illegal immigration. One of them is that undocumented immigrants come to the United States to get welfare when, in fact, their undocumented status renders them ineligible for any form of government-issued benefits..."

I'll bet you that 90% of the people working under the table would love to come out of the shadows. It's the current laws that are preventing them from paying taxes. For you and me there is a much bigger risk in not paying our taxes. If exposing yourself to the system that wants to deport you is a bigger risk than not paying your share, what incentive is there to pay?

What happened during prohibition? Did people stop drinking? Marijuana being illegal sure stops people from getting high, right? Immigration laws only create a black market for labor.

  10. Have you verified for a fact that this is a bona fide bill on the table, and not some silly internet rumor?
