Yes, this is a spoiler attack intended to destroy Russian equipment launching missiles and shells at Ukraine -- as well as disrupting the Russian attacks in the Kharkiv region by forcing the Russians to divert troops back inside Russia. The Ukrainian military does not plan to hold the Russian territory but will move back into Ukraine when this attack is complete. We are now in Day 2... and things are just looking worse and worse for the Russians. It's amusing to watch the vatniks whine "How dare they invade Russia"; it's like the Russians are not self-aware that they have invaded the sovereign nation of Ukraine deliberately causing massive destruction and carrying out endless war crimes for over two years now. Russia says Ukrainian troops crossed into its territory and launched ‘massive attack’ https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/07/europe/russia-ukrainian-troops-cross-border-intl/index.html Russian towns told 'prepare to evacuate' as 'Ukrainian tanks flood over border' Russia has reportedly ordered the evacuation of a number of towns in the Kursk Region as citizens claim they have been told to prepare to leave due to a massive Ukrainian incursion https://www.irishstar.com/news/us-news/russia-evacuation-ukraine-tanks-bombs-33411780 Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk region continues into second day Vladimir Putin convenes meeting with top officials as defence ministry acknowledges fighting is ongoing https://www.theguardian.com/world/a...russia-kursk-region-continues-into-second-day
It's time for your daily educational lesson. Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger are countries in the West Africa’s Sahel region in the vast arid expanse south of the Sahara Desert. All three countries had military coups which removed their democratically elected governments in recent years. The Russians supported the military coups and provide Wagner mercenaries to prop up the military governments of these nations. The Russian Wagner troops have committed endless war crimes in these nations. The Russians are also extracting the natural resources from these nations to enrich themselves -- while providing cuts to the military dictators. This has left the citizens of these nations impoverished and under the brutal military boot of Wagner mercenaries. Formerly these nations when under Democratic governments relied on French and U.S. forces to help with security. Those days are gone -- now these people of these nations are quite rightfully attacking the Wagner mercenaries and brutal military regimes which have abused them brutally. All of this is coupled with the problem of dealing with Islamic extremists in the Sahel region; who primarily attack the villages rather than the stronger military government and Wagner mercenary installations. Niger and Mali -- nations under the oppressive foot of Russian mercenaries -- cutting diplomatic relations to Ukraine means little -- beyond the reality that their Russian masters ordered the military dictators of these nations to do this.
Who Caused the Ukraine War? The conventional wisdom in the West is that Vladimir Putin is responsible for causing the Ukraine war. The invasion aimed at conquering all of Ukraine and making it part of a greater Russia, so the argument goes. Once that goal was achieved, the Russians would move to create an empire in eastern Europe, much like the Soviet Union did after World War II. Thus, Putin is ultimately a threat to the West and must be dealt with forcefully. In short, Putin is an imperialist with a master plan who fits neatly into a rich Russian tradition. The alternative argument, which I identify with, and which is clearly the minority view in the West, is that the United States and its allies provoked the war. This is not to deny, of course, that Russia invaded Ukraine and started the war. But the principal cause of the conflict is the NATO decision to bring Ukraine into the alliance, which virtually all Russian leaders see as an existential threat that must be eliminated. NATO expansion, however, is part of a broader strategy that is designed to make Ukraine a Western bulwark on Russia’s border. Bringing Kyiv into the European Union (EU) and promoting a color revolution in Ukraine – turning it into pro-Western liberal democracy – are the other two prongs of the policy. Russia leaders fear all three prongs, but they fear NATO expansion the most. To deal with this threat, Russia launched a preventive war on 24 February 2022.
A) Ukraine was not in NATO or considering membership until attacked. B) With similar logic, Russia needs to own the entire world to feel safe. C) There's far more to the orange revolution than "EU promoted it". You are not even pretending to be sincere here. D) Explain what the threat from NATO is exactly? That Russia can't abuse its neighbors anymore? Or are you seriously suggesting anyone was intending to invade Russia? Because it's ridiculous.
So again exactly why would NATO attack Russia? Just why? Build Iron Dome v2. I am approx. 300 km away from Russian nuclear weapons and doing just fine.
you should - first of all - read and learn a few things about putin. then ask yourself why he did what he did - in the last 20+ years. russia could be a normal free, democratic, peaceful, prosperous, friendly, etc. country. it is not. why? because of putin and the decisions he made since he became "president".
