Today, Oct 17, 2019, it lists for the stock BBT the Day's Range as $51.40-52.99, yet when I look at the graph shown at the link below that shows the day's chart it doesn't match. For example, when I hover over the lowest value at around 9:36AM it lists $51.60. I'm a little confused why its not showing $51.40. If for example, I placed a limit stock trade before 9:36AM to buy 1 share at $51.50, a value less than $51.60, would the trade have been placed?

The chart you're looking at is a line chart (1 min.) so the line is showing the "close" price.
If you look at a bar or candle chart, you'll see the low on the chart is 51.40 as the low candle was a pinbar.
So Yes, a limit order @ 51.50 would have been filled.

Just looked at chart. It shows a low of 51.40. If you hover over the lowest part it shows a low of 51.40 and a close of 51.60 for that 1 minute bar. If you view it with candles/bars instead of a line chart its easier to see. Line charts just connect the close of every bar.

  4. The price briefly hit $51.40 at 9:36am. If you had a limit order in at $51.50 there's a good chance it would have been filled. I've had limit orders in situations like this before.....some of them filled, some of them didn't. Depends on the market conditions at the time and how many shares actually trade at this extreme price. When I look at a tick chart on Thinkorswim it looks like about 700 shares traded at $51.40.
