Calling the moves “urgent, necessary steps to defend the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Russia,” Putin said in a televised national address Wednesday that Russia is fighting the full might of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The US and its allies, he said, are seeking to “destroy” Russia. “We will definitely use all means available” to defend Russian territory,” Putin said. “That’s not a bluff.” The partial mobilization will mean that reservists will be drafted into military service, Putin said, starting immediately. That supports my view of a strong US Dollar next 12 months and downside for S&P500 (or going sideways at least). Because this looks like a neverending story, this war could last for many more years.
tons of new and stupid cannon fodder in flip flops. they don't even have enough vehicles to bring them to ... wherever. what will they eat - cats and dogs? it IS a bluff.
There is a saying that a war ends only when one side cannot combat anymore. Now Ukraine gets more and more weapons and Russia has kind of neverending ressource. So I do not see in near term up to a few years how this war can end. It is then also not good news for energy prices and thus inflation thematic.
There is more to it: the referendums of the next days/weeks will make these regions Russian. Then nobody can attack them any longer w/o fearing annihilation... And this will finally bring peace, at least to these eastern regions.
