  1. 1) The Obama/Pelosi Increases In Taxes Plan

    2) 15% Consumption Tax Only (no individual or corporate taxes)

  2. "2)"... of course.

But will never happen under Obama administration.. He's not REALLY concerned about creating jobs... He's primarily focused on "increasing government control over every aspect of our lives", as best he can achieve. ...

  3. clacy

    clacy

With Pelosi and Obama, we're more likely to get both, rather than go to a 15% consumption only tax.

In fact, most Republicans would probably prefer that as well.

  4. ....................................................

The polys do not understand that LESS IS MORE....

A sole 15% take would dwarf either the current system and the expected VAT combo....

    WalMart does understand this....

Look at what happened to that small "know nothing" Arkansas red neck store.....

US labor shortages would be guaranteed.....

  5. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE and PLEASE!!!
Be VERY CAREFUL with your VERBIAGE.

While 80% of your Voters will liken choice #2 with Forbes !0% Flat INCOME Tax, ANY self respecting Left Wing Liberal will consider it the same as that old Improvement Tax. I may not have the name right but it comes down to, for example:
1). A Logger pays 15% Plus the value of a tree.

2). The Mill pays the Logger's Costs plus a Profit then another 15%.

3). You can see where this is going. Don't forget That 15% added dump fee when you dispose of your paper plates. And, we would still need some kind of GREEN FEE.

  6. ..............................................

    Well now.....

How about the old way to sell bonds ?

    Commission free....no commissions ?

    In fact ....

    Why not call it...

    The Rebuild America Fund....

Otherwise the US is 100% legally TAX FREE ......

    It's not a tax.....but an investment....

  7. Your point is strong however... in the current system :

1 The logger pays 30%+ in taxes...

2 the mill pays the loggers costs plus a profit then another 30%+

    right ?

To make the new system credible the gov. need to see that he will be able to make money... even more than the current one... hard!

  8. IMO, the poll question is irrelevant until the spending question is resolved.

  9. ............................................

    Nope....the method of taxing is
    either A or B....."or investing"....

Adopt the system ....chips fall where they may....

    Next stop ?

Expenditures only via localized state mandate....

    No more lobbyists....

    Project management voted locally via
    internet by category....

    And watched locally....

    Much tighter system....

  10. you are right, in my view we don't have a tax problem we have a spending problem. Our current graduated system is fair and works IF we cut down our spending.
But the question is irrevelent, there is no chance we will adopt a flat consumption tax. And there is no chance we will cut down on spending, not in the next few years anyway.
