Boom bap! Using the demo! No wonder! MT5 through AMP is a powerful piece of trading software. You need to know what the heck yer doing with it if you wish to survive with scalping. If you have a decent data-feed, check out the millisecond price-ladder on Wednesdays on CL at 10:30 AM ET. It will change your view of the markets man. When you go live, you're entering a world of hate, vitriol, and confusion. But it does not have to be that way. Just UNDERSTAND what you are doing, and things get better.
P.S. MT5 is not easily configurable to change one-click orders from market to limit, and vice-versa. It is not very "robust" in that sense. Look to your expanded order execution screen for the quickie when you right-click the order.
Finally, thanks for the info. What is CL and can you recommend a more robust platform? I've used muticharts in demo in the past. There were software bugs at least every 3 days. So I switched to mt5. Multicharts engineers blamed the demo servers.
CL is WTI Crude oil, traded on a couple of exchanges like NYMEX(Globex) through the CME group, and ICE. As to the question of a more robust platform? I have long-term experience with NinjaTrader so I stick with it and am used to it, and have limited experience with MT5 because the differences between Ninja and MT5 are stark. I find Ninja to be much more "intuitive", with a friendlier interface. MT5 through AMP is fairly "raw" in its current state, in comparison. If AMP is your broker, there is an unfortunate issue regarding their allowing you to use Ninja with them, once Ninja became their own brokerage about two years ago. Depending upon the time you opened your live account with AMP, you may not be able to use Ninja with them. With that said, AMP offers many other trading platforms they support, and you will just have to explore them and find one that works for you. On the other hand, I have not come across any negative feedback about Ninja brokerage, but I have no personal experience with them. You need to keep investigating, making phone calls to all the vendors and brokerages to ask the questions you have, perform your due diligence, and not give up. There is no easy road to all of this...It is going to take some homework! If you work hard enough, you will cease to be a troubled noob, and be just a struggling trader like the majority of folks. .
I googled it.... its Colgate-Palmolive. "Your hands are soaking in it" -Madge I'm still waiting for an answer as to the best energy drink (and chair) for daytrading.
Best chair would be this. http://www.vitalitywebb.com/backstore/Osaki/Osaki_OS-3D_Pro_Cyber_Massage_Chair-RED.htm Only 6 grand! Choice of energy drink is too subjective to advise about. lol.
That is a massage chair and you can't fall asleep during trading. Here are some better options https://www.newegg.com/Gaming-Chairs/SubCategory/ID-3628 Red Bull is best for trading. Turbo Fuel is now outlawed:
I think my choice of trading chair is best, because of options like... Air Intensity Adjustment Auto Leg Scan Arm and Hand Massage Calf and Foot Massage What the hell is an auto leg scan? I don't know, but I want that! If that cannot help me in my trading, then I am doomed! Auto-Leg scan?!? Yep, the Cylons have come back! To trade in a comfy-chair that scans your leg! Why does it do that?!? ROFL
If I had auto-leg scan on my chair 10 years ago then I bet I could have avoided blowing up my account a few times by now.
