IMO, the impeachment process has increased the likelihood of Trump winning a second term. His base is energized, his approval rating is up 6%, and the 2020 election polls are starting to shift in his favor. This could be end up being an enormous mistake by the Democrats. We've still got a long way to go before the election though. Who knows what will happen between now & then. It should be a wild ride.

Watching the vote count on ABC's site they had it split screen with the House and his Nurenberg rally it was pretty surreal to hear him saying AGAIN that on some previous rally a security guard escorted a lady protester out without using violence while the votes were counting.

Reading this morning he says maybe John Dingell is looking up from hell. Even the crowd groaned and the astonishing thing is that his supporters actually half recognised this was appalling.

Yes, impeachment has been historically hazardous to members of the House. However, that does not mean you should not do the right thing.

There was some good results during the build up to impeachment that benefitted democrats, successful governor’s races etc. However, now that the deed is done we are in a new national mind state but it will not have a full understanding of where we are until after this moves through the senate.

We will have to see how the senate trial goes. Mitch McConnell is not immune to public pressure and he has at least 4 members in the senate that can muck up his plans and who DO NOT want to see Trump re-elected.

Even with that, I expect McConnell will handle the trial in a very favorable way for Trump but he will not be able to fully protect him.

    Either way, “helmets on” now.

  8. Even his ally from Michigan in the House said that was crass and deserved an apology.

Trump denying he ever said it in 3....2....1....

The guy deserves to lose his job. But lets not forget that there are numerous examples of the left saying equally outrageous and classless things. Its not a right/left thing. Its an idiot thing.
