Optimus Futures is very excited to announce the launch of our brand new trading platform - Optimus Flow.

Optimus Flow is our signature trading platform with a groundbreaking trading interface using analytical panels for enhanced visual display, better technical analysis, and fast order execution. Trade from a single command center with an intuitive and flexible toolbar to create, save and manage your personal trading environment.

Optimus Flow’s professional volume analysis tools look at the distribution of the trading volume at each price level to detect imbalances between buyers & sellers. Gain unique market insight by using the Order Flow Surface and find the most reliable price levels with a huge amount of limit orders that can affect the price movement. A Heatmap mode also tracks the liquidity change at each price level.

The platform is currently in beta stage and we are planning on a full release within the next week. In order to fine-tune the platform upon full release, we would like to put it in the hands of professional and retail traders to gather as much feedback and suggestions as possible.

Start your Free Beta Trial and Get Full Access to all Premium Tools:

    • DOM Surface - Track all liquidity changes in the order book as well as the trading activity of participants via the Heatmap view
    • Volume Analysis - Span Tools for deep price analysis: Cluster chart, Volume profiles, Time statistics, Time histogram, Historical Time & Sales, Price statistics, Volume Impact indicator
    • TPO Profile Chart - Shows the price distribution during a specified time to reveal which levels the price has spent the most time

We have added the following order features to Optimus Flow: Flatten, Close Position, and Reverse.

    • Flatten – Cancels all working orders and flatten all positions for the instrument you are trading.
    • Close Position – Flattens your positions ONLY . All working orders will remain active. If you have placed a bracket order and use this button, the legs of your bracket order will remain while your active positions will close.
    • Reverse – Reverses your position to the opposite side. If you have a long order and click reverse, you will flatten your current position and then enter a new order on the sell-side.

    What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.54.1

Attention Elite Trader community members and Optimus Flow users,

This weekend we launched our second major update since our official launch, Version 1.54.1. In update 1.54.3, we’ve added a handful of new updates ranging from new indicators, improved symbol management and upgrades to the watchlist, multiple custom trade sessions, and more.

    1. Improved Symbol Directory

To kick things off and improving on updates added to our last update, Optimus Flow will look to improve on our “symbol directory”.

In previous versions, you may have noticed Futures, Options, and Spreads were grouped together. We felt that this was too cluttered, so we’ve decided to group each asset into their own dedicated section. In 1.54, you will now notice spreads will also have their own section listed under Calendar Spreads to make finding Futures Symbols that much easier.

    2. Multiple custom trade sessions.

This will allow users to set the time ranges for trading sessions, within which volume profiles, VWAP, TPO Charts will work. As you can see in the example below, we have created two custom sessions. One for RTH and one for the overnight session. You can access this feature by Right clicking on a Chart > View > Custom Sessions.

    3. Last Bid/Ask Trades in the DOM Trader.

We have now added Last Bid/Ask Trades in the DOM Trader. These panels show and represent buy and sell market orders. You will see the two new columns on the right hand side of the DOM Trader In the GIF below:

    4. Dynamic VPOC indicator.

A new indicator has been added, Dynamic VPOC indicator. POC known as Point of Control is the price with the maximum traded volume for the specified time period. At this price, as well as near it, large traders and institutions accumulated their positions and it serves as a very strong reference point for all market participants. Price usually makes quite strong reactions to POC levels.

Dynamic Volume POC indicator shows the change of POC price during the whole trading day. The starting point for calculating the indicator is set from the beginning of the trading day, and the calculation starts again on the next trading day.

Besides the main POC line, the indicator shows the dynamics of the Value Area, which is a range of prices where the majority of trading volume took place. Value Area is set at 70% by default.

    5. Multiple connections in the History Player and Trading Simulator panels

Now in the History Player and Trading Simulator panels, you can add symbols from different connections for testing or for demo trading on real-time data. For example, you can conduct backtesting in History Player with EURUSD forex pair from OANDA, and 6E euro futures from Rithmic.

    6. Updates to TPO Charts

    • New view for TPO Initial Balance
Added a new view for TPO Initial balance in the form of a Bar near the profile. In the profile settings, you can set the view for initial balance as a Bar or as Area. By default, it set in the form of Area (filled letters).

    • Improved TPO price scale
Changed the behavior of auto-scaling for price scale when the depth of history is changed.

    7. New options for Export data

In addition to the existing Export options, we have added the possibility to specify the separator type and time zone.

    8. Total row in the Market Depth panel

This Row shows the total values of all Bids and Asks. This allows you to estimate the prevailing buyers or sellers. Please see below:

Introducing the New P/L Alerts Feature on Optimus Flow

Attention Elite Trader community members and Optimus Flow users:

Risk management is a key aspect of futures trading and part of that management is to minimize your daily losses. Losses are part of the trading business and it is essential to integrate them into your trading plan. No one likes to lose, but one of the biggest reasons many futures traders don’t make it is because they have unsuccessfully managed to turn what could have been a small loss into a career-ending trade.

A big misconception among beginner traders is that they think they can turn every losing trade into a winning trade. But that’s not how proper risk/reward and cash management works. Sometimes you must accept that not all your decisions will be good and cut your losses and move on.

The same logic applies to profits. You should consider stopping your trading for the day if you reach your daily profit target and simply observe the market for the remainder of the session. This may potentially help you learn the discipline that many traders often don’t exhibit.

In order to help traders learn and acquire these positive traits, we have added a New P/L Alerts Feature free of charge to Optimus Flow. Please see below for details.

Here is an image and the steps on how set daily alert targets within Optimus Flow:

    1. Left click the General Settings Icon at the top of Optimus Flow.
    2. Navigate to P/L alerts within General Settings
    3. Click the + icon to add a new P/L alert
    4. Choose your Futures Symbol, Positive or Negative P/L, and the dollar amount you would like your P/L alert set to.
    5. Once configured “Enable or Disable” your alert by clicking the “ On/Off Switch ”.
    6. Finally, click the Apply Changes button to save your progress and enable your designated alerts. Once changes are applied and your alert is enabled, the next time your account’s P/L meets the criteria of your alert you will be notified and have the option of flattening your position

Here is an example of an alert that would occur if your target has been reached:

If you click the Flatten button , your positions would be liquidated for that specific Futures symbol you have chosen in the configuration screen and cancel all outstanding orders for the Futures contract. It will not affect any other futures symbols you did not set up an alert for.

You can change your targets daily based on volatility, your trading capital, or any method that you think would help you preserve your trading capital. As a day trader, we suggest that you reset your targets daily. You should set them after you have finished trading and analyzed your current alerts and the state of the markets. Then prepare your objectives for the next session.

We hope you enjoy the new P/L Alerts and we look forward to any feedback you can provide. If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns about this update or other features you want us to add in the future, please let us know!

    Disclaimer:
The risk of loss in trading commodity interests can be substantial. You should, therefore, carefully consider whether such trading is suitable for you in light of your financial condition. The placement of contingent orders by you or broker, or trading advisor, such as a “stop-loss” or “stop-limit” order, will not necessarily limit your losses to the intended amounts, since market conditions may make it impossible to execute such orders. Stop Orders are Market Orders.
