Good. If Obama doesn't get involved, then he's doing the right thing for once. It's not our business.

  3. We're not going to war with Iran over this, and they know it. We can bluster all we want, but if we allowed Pakistan and N. Korea to have nukes, are we really going to make Iran the test case?

The thing is, the islamist regime is very unpopular inside Iran and there is a good chance they could be tossed out in the years ahead. If we attack them however, the country would rally and unite behind them, at least that's what my iranian friends tell me. Instead of making empty threats, we should have been supplying weapons and money to insurgents inside Iran.

Iran's president says people should be 'completely free,' claims country not seeking nukes

Published September 19, 2013 Associated Press

"WASHINGTON – Iranian President Hasan Rouhani says his people should be free to think, speak and seek information on the Internet, subject to "the protection of our national identity."

"In an interview with NBC News in Tehran, Rouhani said that a "commission for citizens' rights" will be established "in the near future." He said the viewpoint of the government on censorship issues should be based "on our morals."

"We want the people in their private life to be completely free. In today's world, having access to information and the right of free dialogue and the right to think freely is the right of all people, including the people of Iran," Rouhani said, according to an NBC translation of the interview. A portion of the interview was broadcast Thursday on the "Today" show.

"In the wide-ranging question-and-answer session, Rouhani said that Iran has "never pursued or sought a nuclear bomb and we are not going to do so."

Not sure which is more surprising, Ricter. The fact that Iran extended such an olive branch (even if it is part of a subterfuge) or that you are now posting articles from foxnews.

  6. You sure we shouldn't just BUTT OUT??

Let's assume for a moment that Iran's president is being completely honest. How would an attempt at normalizing relations with us look? It would look just like what he's just done. So I'm glad you're surprised just a bit more than suspicious. (Suspicion is warranted.)

As for posting from Fox, I look constantly for that opportunity--I figure the righties here are more likely to read it. : )
