Mitt Romney Says Obama Is Doing A 'Good Deal Worse Than Even I Expected' Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a crowd of supporters on Tuesday that President Barack Obama is doing a “good deal worse than even I expected.” Romney, who lost to Obama by 126 electoral votes in 2012, made the comments in West Virginia, where he was campaigning for three Republican candidates. Romney described the state of the American economy and turmoil abroad as evidence of Obama’s failure. “I was not a big fan of the president’s policies, as you know, either domestically or internationally,” Romney said, according to Fox News. “But the results of his mistakes and errors, in my opinion, have been more severe than even I would have predicted.” The former Massachussetts governor has enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence in popularity recently. A July CNN/ORC international poll found that if the 2012 election was held last month, Romney would have defeated Obama. Despite calls for him to run for president in 2016, Romney has said that he’s not interested in running again. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/20/mitt-romney-barack-obama_n_5696659.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
Romney: Heck, Even I Never Thought Obama Could Be This Bad During the last election cycle Mitt Romney was crushed by President Obama in the Electoral College and lost by nearly 5 million popular votes. That’s to say, the public overwhelmingly decided that the incumbent president was the better and more qualified of the two candidates, and safely re-elected him. Still, even if that’s how history ultimately unfolded, the former Republican presidential nominee isn’t putting his disagreements aside -- or rallying to his defense -- during these difficult times. On the contrary, he recently told a crowd of enthusiastic supporters in West Virginia that even he was surprised by how much of a failure President Obama’s second term has become (via The Washington Times): The former Massachusetts governor has some pointed words for the man who defeated him two years ago, saying President Obama was doing “a good deal worse than even I expected.” He cited the U.S. economy and troubles abroad in such hot spots as Iraq, Syria and Russia. “I was not a big fan of the president’s policies, as you know, either domestically or internationally,” he said, “but the results of his mistakes and errors, in my opinion, have been more severe than even I would have predicted.” That’s about as uncharitable as Mitt Romney gets. Still, the past few weeks have been anything but easy for the president and his advisers. The death of Michael Brown and the subsequent rioting in Ferguson, Missouri has only added to the president’s growing list of unresolved problems. Abroad, we’ve also witnessed theslaughtering of innocent civilians in northern Iraq and the execution of the first American citizen by the terrorist organization ISIS. To make matters worse, the resumption of hostilities between Israel and Hamas -- and Ukraine and Russia -- also threaten global stability and security. Despite these challenges, however, there’s a reason why my colleagues over at Hot Air routinely describe Obama as “semi-retired.” That’s because he often gives off the impression that he is. He frequently delivers concise statements on important subject matters, only to jet off to a fundraiser or hit the links shortly thereafter. Still, even if the president isn’t “semi-retired” as some claim, his actions suggest he’s not totally engaged, either. As ABC News openly wondered: Does he even careabout optics anymore? It’d be one thing if President Obama was merely a floundering president way over his head; it’s quite another (and a real problem perhaps) when nearly half the country thinks he’s “already checked out.” http://townhall.com/tipsheet/daniel...ever-thought-obama-could-be-this-bad-n1881134
I don't know why anyone would be surprised. Obama has never been what you would call a hard worker. He got through life by using charm and playing the race card, the foreign student card, the religious minority card, etc. Inevitably, he gravitated to a career of race hustling and leftwing politics. Unlike some of his mentors however, Obama was more interested in Obama than any cause or groups of supporters, except insofar as they could advance his career. Now he is deep in the fourth quarter, an obvious failure and has lost interest.
Lost interest is cover for screwed it up so bad with leftist ideas, leftists can't fix it. He has too much pride to let his legacy be this bad due solely to neglect. Sure he has no problem acting the aloof stoner, but the reality is that his team is incapable of doing well. Its like what koch and then dinkins did to New York. It took someone willing to lead with policies aligned with the market and human nature to fix it. Giuliani got there and changed welfare to workfare, cut taxes and started policing the streets instead of giving in to the race hustlers. according to wikipedia Conservative political pundit George Will wrote that at the end of Giuliani's time as mayor he had run the most conservative government in America in the last 50 or 60 years. Prior to him fixing new york new york it was a total mess and people and pundits stated it could not be fixed.
I agree Romney is looking like that right now. However, I think we need someone more like Cruz (who stated eliminate the IRS) or Paul. Romney just did not put forth enough of a tax cutting agenda and now he is looking too much like he is pro amnesty.
There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO REASON TO SUPPORT AMNESTY FOR THE BENEFIT OF AMERICA. AMNESTY BENEFITS ONLY THE POLITICAL PARTY THAT "GET CREDIT (VOTES) FOR IT FROM THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY". AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS HARMS AMERICA OVERALL, REGARDLESS OF WHICH SUB-GROUP APPEARS TO BENEFIT FROM IT! IOW... Whatever your argument which favors amnesty for illegals... IT'S A POLITICALLY MOTIVATED BULLSHIT LIE!!!!!!!!!!! "Amnesty for illegals"..... HARMS AMERICA ECONOMICALLY, SOCIALLY AND CULTURALLY! :>(
Paul Ryan Says He'd Love To See Mitt Romney Run Again: "If people want to actually see action in this country and dealing with problems from education to health care, immigration to our fiscal needs ... they're going to have to vote for Republican senators and ... a Republican president, as well," Romney said. Ryan told reporters after the question-and-answer session with Romney that he would "love to see Mitt Romney run for president again." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/21/paul-ryan-mitt-romney_n_5698615.html
