Today, a CBS poll shows that a mere 37% "approve" of the job Obama is doing. RCP hasn't sunk that low yet, but it's pending. "Better than Bush" is now history.
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that President Obama âsought to redirect some of the political blame for the botched rollout of the federal health insurance exchange to Republicans, characterizing GOP lawmakers as rooting for the lawâs failure.â But Post reporters Philip Rucker and Sandhya Somashekhar never found a Republican to rebut. Everyone quoted in the story was a member of Team Obama... Read more: http://newsbusters.org/#ixzz2lCVAQfqP The Obama<s>care</s>TAX cluster fuck is the GOP's fault! I mean, who knew?
Can't remember a prez approval rating getting that low, but puts on Congress at that strike would be a no-brainer.
"Members of Congress remain even more deeply unpopular. In the CBS poll, congressional Democrats had a 26 percent approval rating, while congressional Republicans were at 21 percent. "The public's view of the Affordable Care Act is also down sharply from the past month, with only 31 percent of Americans approving in the CBS poll -- a 12-point drop from October. Just 11 percent said the rollout of health care exchanges has gone well. While Republicans' support for the law has always been low, Democrats' and independents' views have dimmed as well. Fifty-eight percent of Democrats now approve of the law, down from 74 percent last month. Independents' approval fell from 38 percent to 27 percent during the same time period. "A majority of Americans, however, don't want the law taken off the books. While 43 percent said the law should be repealed entirely, a combined 55 percent said the law is worth keeping: 7 percent think that it's already working well, and 48 percent think that it has some good aspects but needs changes to work better. "CBS polled 1,010 Americans between Nov. 15 and Nov. 18, using live telephone interviews." More>>
Approval levels of Congress are telling, but completely irrelevant to individual members of Congress, since they only have to appease their constituency. Take Ted Cruz, for instance. I'm sure his approval rate would be dismal on a national basis. But the man returns home to standing ovations and loud, rowdy and proud Texans. To him, that's all that matters. Hell, how do you think moonbats like Pelosi continue to get re-elected? So who gives a shit what approval levels are of the House and Senate? When people vote negatively on those, they're voting against government as a whole. Not any one person.
Except that the President's approval rate reflects the public's view on his policies, and that of his administration and party. History has shown that the President's party suffers for the mishaps of the President. We saw that with Bush in his second term, and that's what led the Democrats to get a sweep on the elections in 2008, and the Republicans to come roaring back in 2010. Why do you think the Democrats up for election are so rabid about the whole Obamacare thing? Polls about Congress/Senate approval levels being low have been low for a long, long time. No one gave a shit. They get what matters. You don't seem to, however.
