NYSE Speed bump going away

    NYSE American - Functionality Changes
    Subject to effectiveness of a rule filing with the SEC, NYSE American will make the following functional changes on November 18, 2019.

    Elimination of Delay Mechanism

    NYSE American will eliminate its 350-microsecond delay mechanism that is currently applied to order entry, proprietary market data publication, and outbound routing activity.

    Addition of Order Types

    NYSE American will introduce the following order types and modifiers.

    Order Types

    • ALO
    • Day ISO
    • Day ISO ALO
    • MPL ALO - including both MTS and Minimum Fill modifiers
    Modifiers

    Non-Display Remove Modifier will be available for the following order types:

    • Non-Routable Limit Orders, including Reserve
    • Non-Displayed Limit Orders
    • MPL designated Day
    • MPL ALO


    As previously announced, NYSE American also proposes to eliminate Limit IOC Cross Orders.

    For most traders, 350 microsecond didn't really level the playing field at all.

    I'm not quite sure what you mean by "pace" of the FX realm, unless you mean FX futures, but that's just futures in general.
