The North Carolina state government has declared Climate Change to be Fraud. Removes all Climate Change documents and links from state websites. Climate change links vanish from DENR website http://www.wral.com/climate-change-links-vanish-from-denr-website/13470340/#comment_textarea Links and documents about climate change have recently disappeared from the state Department of Environment and Natural Resources website. As recently as Jan. 21, information about climate change was available on the front page of the Division of Air Quality's website. Sometime in the last two months, the page was edited to remove the link. The link used to connect users to a page full of information and resources about greenhouse gases and climate change. That page no longer exists, either. Two major reports on climate change are also missing from the site: a 100-page report on the possible economic impacts of greenhouse gas mitigation and the state's 118-page Climate Action Plan, a multi-year project involving dozens of experts and policymakers. Both were commissioned by the state legislature, then controlled by Democrats, and completed in 2008. (more at above url) Finally some state government action that the reasonable people in our state will support.
Yes, do you know why they did it? Idiot? It was to retain the value of coastal real estate that would have gone down had the sea level projections been accepted as was predicted by SCIENTISTS. Plus the state is run by moron Republicans that are very unpopular and will be tossed out the next election.
97% of the polls, right? or is 97% the percentage of the vote the democrat will get in the next election?
The measured sea level at the North Carolina coast has gone down slightly over the past two decades. The reports in 2008 using models to show that it would rise greatly over 10 years have obviously been completely discredited. The vacation homes at the coast are in a real estate glut due to the economy so very little is selling or being developed currently. The reality is that it was a very poor idea to develop permanent structures on a barrier sand island that continuously 'rolls', but this has nothing to do with AGW. Sadly for those hoping that the Republicans will be tossed out in the next (2014) NC election - the Republicans controlled the state legislature in 2010 when re-districting was done, they gerrymandered the districts in a manner that ensures a Republican legislative majority in our state for a long time to come. But cry no tears, this is simply payback for the Democrats doing the exact same thing for the previous 100 years in our state. The Republicans unpopular? Well maybe. But they are less unpopular than the state Democrats who have stolen everything that was not nailed down in our state for decades. This landed many of the state Democrat leaders indicted and in prison (Easley, Black, Phipps, etc. - the list is endless). Not a single week goes by without one of them begging to be paroled - and the citizens of our state demanding they stay locked up. This is on top of the truth that the state Democratic party is broke with only $60K in the bank - they had to lay off staff and close their headquarters - on top of a huge leadership feud going on between the urban mainstream Democrats and rural KKK Democrats. -- I don't see the Democrats tossing out the Republicans in the next election.
Please point to the polls. The two most common in our state are Elon and Public Policy (both are left leaning organizations - but do good polling). I will admit that the Republicans in our state are not exactly popular (Gov. McCrory and the right-wing legislature). There are several initiatives involving public education, public benefits (unemployment, etc.), and the environment that are not well-liked. There are several recent disasters including the Duke coal ash pond spill, and the failure of state computer systems in the DHHS that demonstrated glaring failures of McCrory's administration. I will admit that I oppose some to the state Republican policies myself - especially those involving public education. Despite all of this - as all the polling will show - the Republicans in our state are LESS unpopular than the Democrats. Not a single week goes by without a news story involving a state Democrat and the word "prison". In fact, cartoonists in our papers mock that Raleigh Central Prison is the new state Democratic Party Headquarters.
I'm sitting here in the Manteo airport right now, for a couple more hours before going to Greenville. The guys behind the counter think Odumbo is a disaster and most democraps suck dick.
