We are all aware of the time-honored test: movement of lips was conclusive proof of lying. We hate to apply it to people who stick their necks out for us though, guys like Ted Cruz. Luckily, I stumbled across another test that is a bit more nuanced, as progressives like to say. David Steinberg of PJ Media put it this way: Little comes easier to a skilled speaker than clarity; clarity makes up much of the âskilledâ qualifier. Politicians require the ability, and generally have the personality type that draws one to public speaking. Ironically, these facts produce a wonderfully useful corollary: If a politicianâs statements leave you unsure of his stance on an issue, you can be sure he opposes the popular stance of his electorate. http://pjmedia.com/davidsteinberg/all-in-on-amnesty-renee-ellmers-is-boehners-and-cantors-tell/ His post actually concerns what liars Boehner and Eric Cantor are on the issue of amnesty, and what a weasel Cantor in particular is. He also looks at Rep. Renee Elmers, a pro amnesty republican from a safe district in NC. She has a credible primary opponent who would easily hold the seat. She has shown herself to be a particularly aggressive amnesty proponent, getting into shouting matches with those who question her stance, including Laura Ingraham. She is basically a sock puppet for business interests in NC who like having plenty of cheap latino labor available, even if it means the state is going broke paying for schools, crime, welfare, etc. If we can't get someone decent in a safe seat in a mostly red state, I guess it is pretty much over for us.
exactly - when Boehner's press secretly could not confirm or deny his pro amnesty statement... that meant it he said it and he was hoping no one taped it on their cell phone --- a la the 47%.
