need help doing my taxes (1st year MTM)

I plan to do the taxes by myself as a MTM trader. This is my 1st year and I have a few specific questions. Anyone has a good recommendation for a service that understands traders taxes?

 

Bob Green is the best regarded, but he's not cheap. http://greencompany.com. Used him to set up an LLC, but then did my taxes on my own using his book as a guide.

 

Did you use his sample tax returns? Does it have any individual MTM trader tax returns?

 

Did you elect to use MTM last year prior to April? I think you needed to in order to do this.

 

yeah reported as a trader last year and asked for an election starting this year, no prob with that. i'm unfamiliar with some finer details of the MTM process.

 

How/when/where can I file mtm for next year?

 

Green has a lot of this information posted on his website. He also has a forum where you can ask him questions. You can also find a lot of this information via google, but you need to get off your butt and find it, it's not going to come to you
