Morgan Stanley has shaken up its trading business. http://www.businessinsider.com/morgan-stanley-equities-and-fixed-income-changes-2016-1
Nothing new. Changes in fixed income has been happening for a long time. TradeWeb probably leads http://www.tradeweb.com/ . The partnered with Vanguard way back in 2012. They charge crazy data fees.
I agree, 'big change' happens all the time -- I read into it as more of a silly news headline thing. Trading itself...hasn't changed since the beginning of time. The same principles still exists....which I feel are part art, part science.
