Since the money will be wasted anyway, I could send a couple dozen emails to some Chinese people telling them about American culture. That should get me a few thousand from Obama. President Barack Obamaâs administration announced on Thursday that it wants to spend about $200,000 of U.S. taxpayersâ money conducting âCultural Programmingâ inside the âPeopleâs Republic of China.â The money, split up among an expected 30 total awards, range in dollar amount between $5,000 and $50,000. The money would be spent âconducting cultural exchange programs that will provide Chinese audiences with the opportunity to experience U.S. culture and the arts.â Americans arenât the only ones eligible for this taxpayer money, either. The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing is inviting âU.S. individuals, educational institutions, and not-for-profit organizations subject to 501 (c) (3) of the tax code, as well as Chinese organizations legally established in China" to apply for the cash. The eligible applicants section of the Grants.gov announcement says that âPublic and State controlled institutions of higher educationâ in China are allowed to apply for the U.S. taxpayersâ money. This grant announcement comes just weeks after President Barack Obama reportedly told House Speaker John Boehner that âwe donât have a spending problem.â http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...ral-Programming-in-People-s-Republic-of-China
