Lets say I'm starting with no open positions. I place 5 orders. If all 5 of those orders were to be filled, they would exceed my amount of available margin. 3 out of the 5 would not exceed my available margin. Once I get to that point, 3 out of 5, will IB prevent the other orders from being executed/filled? I'm still getting familiar with IB. TDA won't let you place the 4th or 5th order, which is good. Thanks!
Yes, IB will automatically cancel your remaining orders when you no longer have sufficient margin to fill them. To be specific, IB will cancel only those orders that would exceed your remaining/allowed margin. Any other orders that don't exceed your margin, will continue being active.
