I am beginning to suspect what others have come to the same conclusion: that American markets are poor trading venues and possibly manipulated. Corporations are buying back their own shares hugely distorts the market short term. It explains the thin volume. SP futures should be down large, instead it is down 8 handles. Hang Seng -2%.

Taking my business to the Asian markets makes quite a bit of sense, particularly the Hang Seng. Still using FV, but executing it on the Hang Seng. Strange, but true.

I still think it would be a good idea to backtest the components of FV that you can backtest. For example, previous week's high/low/SMA, or put/call ratio, or consumer confidence numbers, etc can be obtained with quite a long history.

That is neither manipulation nor illegal. The fact that you don't understand such a simple thing questions your whole view of the market.

Not to mention you blame the market for your crappy model. The market is what it is, it is the model's duty to figure it out when it acts on technicals, fundamentals or even manipulation.... So stop making lame excuses and close this thread. It has lost its entertaining value long time ago...

  4. i just want to understand... you're mad because the markets are not doing what you think they should do... at least not today. Of course they could do what you think... next week, but by then you'll be doing business in the Asian markets.

I find that frustration is easy to generate in these market.s Too many times I did not stay the course and then regretted it later.

I had puts on SPY and short calls. When I saw SPY down pre-market I entered orders to close calls, for profit; did not even come close to my price. But they are Decembers

The market is way overbought short term. Holding three units short.

Minor support 1200. Remember there is still a bias higher. Don't go crazy short, yet.

This is imploding so fast that even the higher bias is not playing out. In fact, the higher bias will end soon, with hideously grave consequences. It will make sense to start posting Calibrated FV. Holding all shorts.

  10. is higher bias indicated by one of the other FV flavors? what's the physical meaning of that flavor?

e.g. FV - long term equilibrium value, OFV - short-term equilibrium level
