I've read sentiment or statements to the fact that success in the market will bring big money knocking on ones door.

Is this true? Does it happen?

I read more about luck/chance. Perhaps some go getters pseudo conning big money into sponsoring them.

Does big money seek out talent? How do they ID such talent?

it is true - it does happen

if we talking about retail traders the big money does not usually seek talent there

it just happens that when a retail trader starts making big money by trading for himself, his lifestyle changes accordingly , and that's when he crosses the pass with big money people (the first class crowd in the plane, expensive golf clubs, yachting, the house in expensive neighborhood .etc etc )

imho it is not recommended for a retail trader to advertise his occupation - a lot of unnecessary interests of the crowd

true paradox is that these traders do not need OPM and all the headaches associated with them, and that fact even more fires up the big money people interests in those traders... like one famous poet said "the less we interested in the woman, the more she is interested in us" :)
