Can the ire on one side and the high dependence on assistance on the other be explained by high inequality and the resentment it fosters?

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that, lol.

"We don't take kindly to Obamacare 'round here."
"What about the the Affordable Care Act?"
"Now some good might come of that, my niece is going on it."

did you catch the part where the author said this...

    1. the author dropped out of the race and got a job working for the governor.

    "
Some full disclosure: I ran against Beshear in the 2007 gubernatorial primary, dropped out and endorsed him; and then he punished me by appointing me as his Finance Secretary during the worst global financial calamity of our lifetime. But it was in the midst of that crisis that I was able to take true measure of the man. The Great Recession denied Beshear’s dream of enacting resource-intensive, transformative educational programs to lift the Commonwealth out of its competitive ditch, while his proposals to create new revenue were thwarted until very recently by the spread of MHV (the McConnell Hyperpartisanship Virus) from Washington to Frankfort.'

    2. Then don't forget the racist put down of white people... by a govt worker...every smug leftist writer faking intelligence needs one of these to feed their ridiculous base...
    so here it is.

"The GOP’s effective—and quite misleading—messaging plays into the anti-establishment populace’s greatest fears about out-of-control outside interference: the myth of a government-run-health-care system, engineered by a President with socialist tendencies (and whose skin pigmentation and exotic name frankly heighten popular anxiety in some of the nation’s least educated counties)."

Did you read the "exit interview" with McConnell after the vote? He's the voice of deep experience. The tea partiers sound like teen partiers comparatively.
