It's not. It will take another 20 years until the last old numbercruncher is retired. Excel is just too fast and too convenient. Before I write a piece of code to import numbers from a PDF, others from a website and the third array from a .csv, I already have the results in excel: copy, pasta, formula, done. Python and Jupyther is good for projects that are too much of a load on excel, but for everything else, excel is still king
