Done for the day here, it seems really choppy in this last half hour. I only made 3 trades today but really observed at least another half dozen that I could have taken. With a little more experience I should be able to stay on top of everything and take every trade that I should. The breakdown for the day was: Trade 1: Short NQ for -6 points Trade 2: Long ES for 2.5 points Trade 3: Short ES for 3 points Looking forward to putting more of the analysis into practice next week and making overall improvement.
The market isn't looking overly interesting yet, we're just basically trading at the upper end of the bigger range over the last week. I will probably just monitor the charts and wait to see what happens after the 10am numbers come out before I make a trade.
Long ES at 837.75 *edit* - stopped out at 836.25, worth a shot even before an econ number since it was a low risk/high reward play. *edit 2* - Should have kept my stop a little wider since I got stopped out on the low tick and it was way too close to entry before an econ number. Was looking for 848 as a target.
Two good entries so far this morning and I'm 1 for 2 on the trade management so far. I also had a bid in to get long the NQ for 1193 at 10:08 but I did not get the fill.
Looks like we might be rolling over a bit out of this mornings uptrend so I will be on the lookout for short trades now. ES has broken its uptrend but NQ is putting up a fight at it's uptrend line.
Short NQ at 1191 Target is around 1187.50, pretty small target for now as we get a little choppy here. *edit* - Cover at 1190, the market is acting really dull here and we're still in the upper end of today's range so I'd rather not be short right now.
Really choppy here during lunch and not much volume so far today. Outside of that run-up in the first 45 minutes there really haven't been too many trades to take today. I'll see if things pick up a little bit after lunch.
As soon as I wrote that I sold an ES at 842.25 *edit* - cover at 841.25, I should stay out of this chop until a clearer trend presents itself.
