Is there a way I could find historical top gainer/loser etc. list?

Discussion in 'Technical Analysis' started by ArthurWang, Feb 20, 2020.

  1. I did some research and find many recommend using wsj's data, but those answers are at least 1 years old and it seems WSJ has removed or hidden that function.

Just wonder if I could find some archived list of stocks worth pay attention to at that given day. Such as top movers, gainers and etc.

    Thanks!

Do it yourself with an appropriate analysis software/programming language and survivorship bias-free data.

One way, Arthur Wang, is print charts of good volume tech stocks/gold stocks that gained 100%; they tend to gain 200% , 300%, 400% ............................................................................................ WSJ tend to include junk under $5. barchart top 100. Tech tends to do better, over time than gold stocks; not a prediction.

The bigger question is: does this give you an edge?

  5. Oh not really. I just hope to use it for bar-to-bar practice. and narrow down candidates to test.

  6. Thanks for sharing.
