I'm looking for a GOOD charting package... any ideas?

  1. I've been using MetaStock for years, but now have issues with them.

Been trying out IB's. Not bad, but nowhere as good as MetaStock. AND, won't run on secondary monitors. (At least the demo won't. Anyone know different?)

1st thing I need is data/charting ES/NQ with DOM trading.

2nd, charting other issues like stocks, etfs, indices, etc that will run on secondary monitors.
    TIA.

Ask your broker what they recommend. I was not recommending deep discount, it is a good round up of what is available though.

I think Scat has me on ignore, but....
Ensign is one of the best charting packages on the market. I don't think they support auto trading (not directly, anyway) but just about anything you can think of you can do.

maybe someone can reply to this so he sees it :)

  5. My first charting program was Ensign... waaaay back when. Ran on an 8086, XT machine with 720K floppy drives.

CQG is really nice but it's too expensive for me

Ninja Trader is a pretty good charting software with programmable indicators and strategies and it's free. Just DON'T use it for live trading.
