  2. I dunno about MultiCharts, but I have no problem backfilling NinjaTrader and QuoteTracker in the afterhours. For instance, it is 3:07 AM (EST) right now and the charts backfill fine.

Take the two following charts for example. For the first chart, I deliberately erased the data for the last two days in order to backfill later. The second chart shows the missing data using the backfill.

  3. Hi Saliva,

I think they have fixed the problem. They gave me a call on Sunday and I think they put in some more powerful servers from a new vendor. The problems I mentioned were Friday when the problem as at its worst (server overload). I have a theory that the Montreal SXFZ08 may have been on a different server and with lower volumes it did not go into overload.

There was another thread on this problem and a person on that thread said that NinjaTrader was having backfill problems with IB data last week during the day when it was the worst (but not quite the same as MC was having). Some softwares apparently get the live data first then do the backfilling (not sure how they do that). MC does not. It does the backfill first and once that is caught up then it switches to the live. If the backfill is locking it up you have to close the workspace with that symbol, change the parameters to not ask for backfill and then reopen the workspace to start collecting the live data only. If you have another workspace with a different symbol as I do and this one is not having backfill problems you can just leave that workspace open and it will be fine.

  6. Hello JB,

It sure is fixed for now as far as I can tell. Either way, this is a good news indeed.

  7. Logged into IB around 9:05 AM EST. Put up the ES chart of 1-day, 5 minute intervals. The previous day's chart came into view. At around 9:33AM, the chart reloaded and the current day's chart began to form. Just now, I put up an ES chart with different parameters, and all of the candlesticks appeared. So, definitely an improvement from last week.

Other than jumping ....... to (wrong) conclusions, do you practice any other sport? Even if you do, I strongly suggest a similar sport, well suited for the intellectual and moral characteristics you've displayed so far. If I may suggest, "jumping out of windows", or even jumping from high places. In your case, it would be highly desirable, if you begin practicing by jumping from the highest point you have access to.

The last one I need advice from is YOU. If it makes you feel good, and believe that you are getting a steal of a deal @ 2.35 per side, by all means. Trust me when I tell you that I honestly give a fuck less. Clearly, the old saying "a fool and his money will soon be parted" is hard at work in your case.

I am uncertain if intellectually you are capable of grasping the concept of asking questions first, then rendering an opinion thereafter, but you ought to try it sometime, before you bless, bother is more like it, others with your perceived invaluable advice.

Now grace me with your absence, and go play in traffic, preferably on a very busy highway during rush hour.

    Warmly,
