Assuming that your priority is to exit as soon as you can (and that you are not too worried about getting the best price you can) I can think of at least two alternatives ... 1. Call your broker and ask them to close the position; or 2. If you can't, then place an order yourself to close your 17 share position: if you're doing this during core session market hours, then place a market order to close the position. If you want to close the position outside market hours, use a limit order with the limit price set so that it executes straight away (e.g. if your limit order is a sell limit order, then your limit price should be BELOW the bid; if your limit order is a buy limit order, then your limit price should be ABOVE the offer; in either case you should get filled straight away at the bid or offer).
