The two Japanese guys have made huge percent returns. But it was mainly due to the JCOM fat-finger event. So it was purely luck vs skill in Dan's case. I guess some guys made huge returns during the 2011 flash-crash too. Just need one right option trade and it give you instant five digit returns.
Because his account went boom and bust multiple times over different market environments. Each time he went from 5 figures to deep six figures, then back to 5 figures until late 1998 to early 2000 he caught the massive dotcom bubble. I believe he was up to $40 mil in early 2000, then dropped to $16 mil by late 2002.
Even though I neither like or dislike Zanger, I'm waiting for the first dumbass to belittle his documented audited achievement.
I did not belittle his achievement. When constructing a performance record of a trader utilizing a strategy you look at the full history - Not a selective period where they did particularly well. Simple fact. Does not take away from the glory of plunging for 2 years and earning that record-breaking return.
I guess I could say yes... But only on a technicality. When I opened my futures account my fcm had watched me trade for 2 years. I owned a seat so they didn't wait for my check to clear. By the time it bounced, I was up a significant percentage of the planned deposit so they told me not to bother. So technically I started trading with 0 and had a profit. You do the math What he did is much more impressive.
Zanger sells a service based upon that record. I recall something like at least 400 members@ $79/month= 31k/month No credible record since then Wishy washy words, but hell it is a bizness. On options, he is a fan of ITM for the right kind of stock, like a GOOG If I ever choose to day trade again, I'll subscribe and fade away
Vic Niederhoffer came close or beat these claimed returns earlier in his career. However, he is not a promoter so you never heard of it-- but he did go on to be the number one ranked hedge fund manager on earth for a number of years. surf
I did not say you did, in fact, I stated that I was waiting to see who would be the first one, future tense
Is this something like a lottery winner earning $100 million on a $1 ticket? An outlier? No idea, just asking since the guy seems to earn a living as a letter writer And promoter of old glories based on a quick google. Can you produce the audit and documentation? I never heard of the guy, he's unknown in the money management world, but you posed a challenge--- so produce. Please no self reported results. Thank you
