German industrial output falls in July Worse than "expected"

  1. FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Germany's industrial production declined 0.9% in July from the previous month, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in Berlin reported on Tuesday. The result was much worse than analysts expected. Most market participants expected a rise of about 1.6%. Output rose by a revised 0.8% in June from May, the ministry also said in a statement posted on its Web site.
