I remember reading an article about 4-5 years ago that basically said if rates start to rise on their own from market forces the Fed is screwed since it will be unable to manage it's balance sheet.

    "Should be any day now!"

This song and dance has been going on since 2010 guys, cmon. We're here nearly 6-7 years later (8 if you count GFC) and we've had ONE 25bps increase in that time.

  5. IMHO the worst case scenario is the Fed raises .25 in December, and then the US economy weakens and they have to take it back off sometime in 2017. That scenario would be consistent with a huge drop in equities late this year.

  6. Really? It's going to send the whole market down.

  7. Do you think that our economy are so weak that they will have to back it off?

we have differing opinions. if your scenario plays out it doesn't prove anything. correlation is not proof of causation.
