Short version. Seal team tried a snatch and grab against a senior terrorist who was supposed to be at a seaside villa but were driven off by heavy fire. They claimed they wanted to avoid "civilian casualties."

My question: they knew the location of a nest of terrorists. Why not just bomb them to smithereens? They even sent in gunships to provide covering fire allow the SEALs to withdraw but apparently didn't level the compound.

Why the kid gloves? These were supposedly the people who staged that mall attack in kenya.

I was wondering the same thing. Seems like if they wanted to be extra careful, they could have had the Seal team confirm the target and then let a drone fire away.

  3. Doesn't really matter. Anything less than a giant napalm run down the entire coast of Somlia is a waste of time and energy. These people aren't going to quit just cause some guy gets taken out, or 2 guys, 10 guys or a 100. Gotta' kill every single one of them. Some would say that's any awfully big job. To that I would say, we best get started right away then.
