    Hi all,
This is my first day on this forum - and my first post. Be gentle.

I day-trade high volumes of European shares, mostly Italian listed on the BVME.
I am now paying IB 0.08%, which is quite expensive for day trading.

I wonder if there is a cheaper alternative out there?

Are you in Italy? Italians i know trade through their banks.

I am not, unfortunately. I called Fineco, but they would only open accounts for residents of the UK and Italy introduced by an independent financial advisor. I am not a resident of either country.

Cool thing with them is the GBP 6.95 flat fee per trade. Breaks even at a notional value of EUR 1,000 per trade when compared to IB 0.08%

Set up a company in the UK or Italy and trade remotely.

I have already done that in the UK :). They don't accept business accounts yet (never will I am thinking until the Brexit regulatory "equivalence" mess i sorted).

Why did you choose Italian stocks?

Look, I am new to this forum but people keep referring to "an edge", whatever that means.
Let's call it that. 20% of Portfolio.

Correct me if I am wrong, but these folks don't offer DMA. I would have to trade against their book I reckon.

From their website (https://www.degiro.co.uk/products-and-markets.html), it would appear you are correct - at least for Italian markets...
