You may say this is crazy and way too big and completely unrealistic. And you would be absolutely right.

No way any president will get $1.5 trillion in student loan relief but who cares when your opponent is going to be the guy that promised to build a coast to coast 30 foot high wall Mexico would pay for.

    Lots more of this coming.

    Cuddles and DTB2 like this.
  3. Might as well promise "a chicken in every pot" while she's at it.

If you know anything about the tax law passed by Trump this is actually a pretty clever take:

  5. Complete non starter for me. Until we address why the cost of a college education has risen so exponentially over the past 3 decades there can be no discussion about tuition forgiveness.

  7. I think I see one big reason right here:

In-state tuition at a public university is like 12-15k, not counting any grants or scholarships, of which many are on offer for smart, poor, or racially-disadvantaged students. Not to say that college isn't a racket, or that admin costs aren't out of control, but I really don't see the big deal. No, you don't have the right to a degree in Diversity Studies from a $50k-per-year private college on my dime.

In terms of problems, the American healthcare 'system' is about a thousand times worse.

Her proposal is just plain stupid. If she were actually serious, it would be the maximum costs of a 2 year community college degree plus 2 years at a state college/university for bachelor's degree. Let's see, that's about $10k max. If you're spending more than that for a degree, you really ought to take some responsibility for it.

    Won't stop her from pandering.

Would you support it if she promised Mexico would pay for it?
