Whether intended or not, comments and policies of Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates during this election were seen by Hispanics and Asians as hostile to them, Trump says. âRepublicans didnât have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians,â the billionaire developer says. âThe Democrats didnât have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they werenât mean-spirited about it,â Trump says. âThey didnât know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.â Romneyâs solution of âself deportationâ for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says. âHe had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal,â Trump says. âIt sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote,â Trump notes. âHe lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.â The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy âto take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country,â Trump says.
Yesterday a birther, today looking for relevance. This is Trump's way of saying ....Nosiree, I am not an angry old white man, not me, nope, no sir.
http://www.inquisitr.com/414082/donald-trump-the-gop-should-really-start-appealing-to-minorities/ Donald Trump: âThe GOP Should Really Start Appealing To Minoritiesâ According to Donald Trump, the GOP should really start appealing to minority voters if the party wants to start winning elections again. Immediately after the 2012 election, conservatives and pundits said that in order for the GOP to remain competitive within the political climate, they have to re-package their message to appeal to minority demographics. Theyâve been hammering the new message almost daily, and now controversial business mogul Donald Trump has added his opinion to the mix. In a NewsMax article Monday, Trump said that the GOP needs to start selling the merits of their message to minorities in order to defeat Democrats in future elections: âRepublicans didnât have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians,â he said. âThe Democrats didnât have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they werenât mean-spirited about it. They didnât know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.â Trump also mocked Mitt Romneyâs âself-deportationâ plan as a âcrazyâ and âmaniacalâ idea, which caused him to lose the vote of âeverybody who is inspired to come into this country.â Trump also said that the GOP should approach immigration reform as an âincredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country.â Mediaite notes that the irony of Trumpâs latest assertions is that he himself did a lot of damage to the GOP brand with his continued zeal in chasing the âbirtherâ conspiracy, calling President Obamaâs nationality and right to govern into question very publicly and on several occasions. This, they say, probably didnât go over well with minority groups.
