I'm betting that it will never be built there. They will get a sweetheart deal from the city (due to the "prejudice" of the locals and the country as a whole) to build it in another locale and will end up selling the property for a significant profit. That's how shit works in this city. What you see on the surface is far from what is actually going on in the back-rooms NYC is famous for.

 

Can't believe the powers that be are allowing this to happen. What poor taste. And I'm sure it's quite offensive to victims of 9/11. A mosque at ground zero is a slap in the face.

 

What's meant by "at" ground zero? The article I read said a "few blocks" away. And apparently it's not a mosque... ?
