Court orders Coinbase to hand over customer details to IRS
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Inc., based in San Francisco, has been ordered to hand over customer records to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service after losing a case that was first filed against it by the Department of Justice in November. The case relates to a request by the IRS for Coinbase to hand over details of all of its U.S. users and their transactions between 2013 and 2015 on the basis that customers had failed to detail their returns from bitcoin trading in their tax returns. Would think that would hurt cryptos. Tax evasion and black market transactions are the primary appeal that bitcoin has over cash and precious metals for many people. Although maybe people will just start using an offshore exchange.

  3. Nothing can hurt crypto, since it's adherents do not subscribe to any logic known to man
