CNN just bought beme, an app that put 4 second bursts of videos into the social sphere without giving the user the ability to edit any of the content......CNN trying to play catch up and look up to date trying to crawl their way into the cool zone for all those younger millenniums....these companies are always trying to buy new technology to implement it into their existing structure but always fail at it....the only ones ever making out with success are the creators who sold it off to the fools who think they can turn it into something even bigger and greater which never happens....

CNN announced on Monday that it had agreed to acquire the technology and talent behind Beme, the social media app built and started by Mr. Neistat and Matt Hackett, a former vice president of engineering at Tumblr. Beme’s 12 employees will join CNN as part of the deal, the terms of which were not publicly disclosed.

    Correct @Cdntrader

They bought the app, then they will shut it down...

"Mr. Neistat hopes to bring that idea of authenticity to a news and media environment to draw in a younger audience largely untapped by the cable news network. CNN will shut down the Beme app, which had 1.2 million downloads before losing steam."

  4. CNN is done for...viewership and news content has fallen off a cliff. Go ahead and look at their homepage right now to see how pop culture buzz feed sensational its become. Younger readers don't even care about CNN and see thru the fake shilling attempt.

It's hard to make young readers to look at news at all, let alone CNN.

  6. Ya, they bought Casey.

  7. Nothing is going to pan out. As the author pointed out companies like CNN always fail in managing such startups. They're too bureaucratic

  8. Do you think this investment is going to pan out?!

    What is Casey?

  10. He's the "hot" Youtuber of the moment. Over a billion video views in past year or so.
