Christie Favors Car Dealers, Shafts Consumers

Discussion in 'Politics' started by AAAintheBeltway, Mar 12, 2014.

  1. Romney reportedly was taken aback by N.J. Gov. Chris Christie's high-handed demands, including one that romney not fund raise in Newe jersey without Christie's ok. He reportedly described Christie as thinking he was Tony Soprano, and this attitude was apparently an important part of his decision not to select Christie As his VP nominee.

Now Chrisite has again gone off the deep end, acting more like a mafia chief than a governor. His administration abruptly acted to force Tesla to stop selling cars in NJ unless they use a traditional dealer network, something the company has refused to do anywhere. The politics of this are too clear to require explanation. It is the equivalent of the traditional mafia extortion racquet " Nice little restaurant you have there, too bad if anything happened to it."

Under Christie, if you want to do business in NJ, youse gotta pay the right guys, otherwise fugaddabit.

I cannot think of a single good reason this is not a violation of the Commerce Clause. Apparently, our "living" Cconstitution now guarantees a right to gay marriage but if you want to sell cars in NJ, you have to pony up.

If anyone had any lingering doubts about Christie's fitness to be president, i hope this settles the issue. Of course, the same disqualification has to apply to Rick Perry since Texas has a similar law. His heart just goes out to illegals but not apparently to car buyers.

Completely agree. Too bad about Christie's self-destruction, in a few ways I thought he'd make a good republican (shudder) president.

The story also reminds me of the occasional suggestion here that the US (re-)raise a tariff wall to pay for the cost of government.

you mean like the founders... have a tarriff and eliminate the income tax.
You grow industries at home, put people to work and don't penalize work.

Finally, most of the economic indoctrination the country has received in schools is b.s. like the leftist stuff the teachers present.
Almost every country has grown their economic base by protecting and targeting industries.
another... The dollar being is the reserve currency is the opposite of a benefit... it allowed the federal reserve owners to accumulate assets all over the world as it destroyed the standard of living of americans. (it caused over a thousand percent inflation in some items since ww2... when the dollar should have gotten stronger it got weaker.

I've said numerous times that Christie is a no good pos. What REALLY concerns me is the fat bastard screwing up things up for 2016. I also think he took joy in shafting Romney right before the last election, leaving us with four more years of heil Onazi.

IF by chance the fat man makes it to a national election I will not vote for him.
But then in the interest of disclosure, I'm done voting for establishment RINO's anyway. It's independent/libertarian/ tea party supported candidates right down the line for me from now on.

Agreed. I'm hoping Rand Paul makes a run, and the rest of the GOP cronies leave him alone, or we'll be stuck with another pile of shit i.e., Hillary. Rand has an r behind his name, but he's far and away from the establishment GOP turds like John McCain, John boehner, Mitch McConnell, etc.,
Rand and Ted Cruz are good to go. The rest suck. It's sad, all we've basically got are 2-3 guys out there doing the right thing FOR We The People.

Christie would be my last Republican choice. His hug (may have) allowed this country to have 4 more years obama / facist big govt torture.

he might not have been happy about not being v.p. but he should not have sold us out. He put Christie ahead of Americans.

It is. Watching this generation of selfish bastards destroy the economic future for our children, turn a larger portion of a country into food stamp recipients and destroy our liberty at the same... is tough.

If you do not sense that... no wonder you support big govt fascism.
However, don't say you have not been warned when the govt comes for you up there is Canada.
