Can we talk about day trading?

Other than a few tidbits here and there, and they're usually very basic knowledge, I don't think I've ever seen a thread solely dedicated to day trading.

Some of the things I believe worth discussing here (in no order of importance): market psychology, self-discipline, traps, entry/exit (eg. timing), and risk control.

Anyone care to spin the bottle?

There has been so single thread on that because we already have forums that adress those issues.

Market psychology and discipline goes to "Psychology" section, traps and exit/entry can go to "trading" section, and risk control can go to "Risk Management" section.

As relates specifically to day trading all in one spot ... schizo you are right, we do not.

Well hell, then @Baron can simply add three new subsections to trading. "Day-trading", Swing-trading" and "Position-trading".

That would open up three more sponsorship spots.

I now fully understand why people cannot resist bashing you. You get so hung up on these irrelevant matters, it's laughable. Why don't you look at the entire forest for once, instead of singles trees?

You overplayed after your 1st post -"There has been so single thread on that because we already have forums that adress those issues.

Market psychology and discipline goes to "Psychology" section, traps and exit/entry can go to "trading" section, and risk control can go to "Risk Management" section."

I think for most it is a passing fascination:

    1) I can make easy money.
    2) Look how easy it is to buy and sell.
    3) I can make xxx PER DAY.

    turns into

    1) This is a lot of work day in and day out.
    2) Buying and selling is too easy, but when to buy and sell is not so easy.
    3) I can only lose XXXX per day.

It reminds me of the Weed-Marijuana business. Everyone thinks, after taking a big hit, it is easy money, but don't take into account the skills and infrastructure requirements. They just think of the things the understand: Smoking, buying and selling*.

Day trading is a business. Treat it as anything else and your business will fail within 1-2 years, usually from capital drains. You have to learn all the things you DON'T understand, not just tweak the things you do understand.

*FWIW: Can you imagine trying to cut complex business deals with people who are chronically high?

I AM looking at the whole forest. It is YOU who are looking at the single trees, like how we "don't have a thread specifically about day-trading" involving issues that are covered in multiple other forums.

So go ahead. Start a thread specific to day-trading involving all of those issues in one bundle. In which section would you start it?

Day trading, the big advantage i see for retail traders is access to much higher intra day leverage. eg. You can get over 200x intra day leverage with futures.
That is much more than you will ever need. So the sky is the limit in terms of the rate of returns you can make. 1000% or more a year is possible for small accounts. eg growing 10K to 100K, or 100K to 1M.
